@lia Another cool pricey toy for adults.
"... and it never gets speedwobbles ..." - I'm highly suspicious about that. Looks very smooth ground dependent. Still tons of fun, no doubt. -
@sirgu Me too, I feel like the speed wobble is replaced with getting locked into a turn and falling off.
Not sure if suspension on the rear would be a good idea but when I looked at making one I had it in the plan.
-
@lia The guy looks a little bit like a young Kyle Doerksen with hair. Haha.
-
@sirgu Sure looks fun! Still gonna be a problem offroad or traffic bumps over 2".
-
@maciak To put that in comparision .. gotta love this climb-over-anything ability of that Vendetta thingy. Although we do not know how many shots it took to accomplish such clip.
On the other hand, with all that complexity 'n details, it must have taken ages to maintain this stuff after each trail ride. -
@sirgu 🤣🤣 did not even know such thing existed! Pretty amazing.
-
@sirgu That Vendetta looks pretty cool. I think it might need a little refinement, but if it can be made as durable as a OW, a lot of people would probably like it. Personally, I would miss the carvability of the OW.
-
@lia This is interesting, 3 wheels though. Looks like the builder went through many prototypes.

If I lived somewhere flat maybe
-
Lol. He pulls his first make prototypes out of wild bushes like these are nothing. X]
-
@sirgu I'm still try to figure out how the steering works, lots of monkey motion going on.
-
it doesn't turn like a onewheel or a snowboard with that mod. Maybe if wheel was between the feet.
-
(Not gonna make new topic. Hope following fits in here.)
Someone's interpretation of 'BeastWheel' mod in 2022

@sirgu Haha! Lots ot work went into that build. Looks like hoverboard electronics.
-
@sirgu That is totally ridiculous, and I love every second of it.
-
@sirgu that has to be fake
Like, no way that tiny-ass motor from the hoverboard is moving a wheel that big
Right..?!ouh nouh

@lemur reminds me of this:

Well, it is not.
If you pause at 3:11 and take this sequence of numbers (under green sticker) you might get a chance for googling the motor-hub used there. Some YT comments below find it's an eBike drive motor. Don't know ... but you can check the hoverboards motor at 0:25 for comparison.Personally, I really didn't paid in-depth attention on details at first place as it's obviously 'fun-project' not to be taken too seriously. There are bunch of questionabilities other than motor power.
-
@sirgu Oh wow I didn't even notice, well spotted! I thought when watching this there is no way that hardware is working with this. That sneaky motor swap at least explains part of it lol.
Personally I'd love to see someone actually make a decent Monsterwheel. As fun as "I took X product and changed the frame" is I'd honestly love to see a maximum effort big wheeled board with the hardware to match the scale and no compromise on features like actual footpads and a sensible means to mount it.
The XS exists at 1/2 scale, so whose gonna finally make the XL at 2x scale.

Really, I haven't seen the video! ;) Of course, you'll need to find a little person to ride it (I didn't want to imply anything, LOL).
