@lia My fear is that all they have really done is to increase the QA. That being said, I filled out the form to get a replacement. Which means that I expect my board to ghost for the first time on my group ride tonight.

@biell It looks like they may have redone the manufacturing and the QA according to a comment on an FB post.

Fingers crossed for no ghosting on your group ride :)

@lia I had mine replaced, albeit with the same design, at 300 miles. I'm now over 1700 miles on the board and never had any issue with the sensors. That said, I've filled out the form and the new pad will be on its way.

Thx for the info! Saves me from having to finally clean my existing pad. :)

Guess I’ll play by the rules but in the meantime I’ve decided to rename my board and give Chip’s GT a name. Introducing Hauser and Quaid. 78345239-DF63-4206-8A6E-F93D15B2ACA4.jpeg

It's good that they do this recall, just a bit late. In mind to many injuries and accidents, Ride safe!

@fallman Nice to see you here Oskar :)
Bit late indeed but props to them for at least doing it after it felt like they wouldn't.

I wonder if there might have been tensions within the company to do it. Maybe legal disagreements on accepting liability since a recall is essentially admission of a fault.

Curious what changes they made if they're noticeable visibly. I'm sure some brave floater will tear one apart to find out.

Just got mine. Not sure about the rules with 1400 miles on my existing pad and I pretty much mount and dismount outside my front door, so very little risk. I'm also always checking to see if one of the sensors is flaky and haven't seen any issues. May just keep it on stand by. :)

Future Motion rarely has sales, but since they were capitalizing on the "let us ride" movement and giving 15% off their new GT Flat Kick Footpads, I jumped on it and ordered. While I have had zero issues with the original GT footpad, the free replacement one, and the recall replacement one, I have always felt the edge of the concave front pad cutting into my heel.

Riding today with the new flat pad, I'm thinking they should've just stuck with this design for the GT from the start. I was immediately drawn back into the memory of my how my XR felt with the flat front pad. I left the back concave pad on as I think it helps with board control. I did notice some pain in my front foot, similar to what I used to feel on my XR, but nothing a bit of rocking in place couldn't resolve. I also think I'll get used to it as I had similar issues when I first started on the GT concave pads.

Not sure if the LETUSRIDE discount code still works, but if anyone is longing for flat GT pads, might want to check them out.

So, remember this GT ghosting problem? Because of it, CNR wouldn't ship me my GT grip tape that I ordered. They wanted to wait until FM had figured out the problem before shipping the grip tape. Well, it took them so long to decide that ghosting was fixed that I honestly forgot I had ordered it. in fact, since then, I have been through 3 different GT footpad configurations!

But, apparently we can all now agree that ghosting is fixed, because I got this today from CNR. Note the April 22nd delivered date on my XR grip isn't in the future, it is two years ago!

I assume that at some point in time I will find some use for this.
