OW Pint VESC Repair
-
MK1 printed successfully minus a bit of nozzle wobble.
Took a while to get the support material off D:Here's what I woke to this morning~
After a bit of cleaning up and filing down on the little channels for the rear bumper rails to slot into it fits quite well.
Slapped the rails on to verify that it does indeed fit and it appears to be pretty much spot on
Thankfully even the charge port looks to be accurate too which is a relief
Connected up the battery harness to the model after cleaning up the M20 threads with my tap. Everything fits nicely. Didn't have a BMS cover to hand but since that hasn'd changed since the Pint battery housing it should also work still :)
And now were back to the topic at hand again. The former VESC pint soon to become a PintX
Still need a name for this board though...Not sure about sharing this publicly just yet without some other eyes on it.
Anyone fancy giving it a look over to see if there could be improvements?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wn16iHf18XZYL955l8qn4RuGjkmOAliM/view?usp=sharingOne suggestion for printing, with the supports try blocking the inner-most part of the rail channels else it'll be a nightmare to clean them up after. Getting support just on the outer lip is enough to print the overhang. Screenie below of what I did.
Just as a bonus some renders of the model :)

@liaThat's amazing! I can't offer any improvements because the files look like hieroglyphs to me, but is it ok if I get this printed?
-
@lemur Please do :) Let me know how it works out for you

How did it go? Have you printed? What is your opinion? Any feedback? :)

@ed_co I have to find another person do do my printing, my present guy moved away. Sorry.

I've publicly released the battery housing on MyMiniFactory.
Haven't yet mentioned it on reddit though since I don't want to spend this evening responding to lots of comments D:Here's the link in case anyone is interested.

@lia As usual, just amazing!
Have you started with the battery for your pint/pint x hybrid? -
@ed_co Thanks <3
Nothing like that yet, waiting on things to calm down before buying some more gear.
-
@lia I finally found someone to print the battery box for me . Should be done next week. Thank you.
-
@lemur Thanks for letting me know :) Eager to hear if it works well for you too.

Likely you all know about this, which I happened on today -- preorder for a motor that may work in a XR:

@s-leon Very excited seeing these, do we know if those are custom fab or off the shelf whitelabel motors?
-
@lia -- Good question.
-
@s-leon From what I read, it will work inside the XR rails, but not with the XR controller or battery. The voltage range is 60-80v, which I assume is nominal. If so, an XR with a 54v nominal, would be below spec. The XR adapter they speak of sounds like a mounting bracket and not a connector adapter. Can anyone maybe more knowledgeable about these things correct me?
If you could plug this thing into a GT with 63v nominal, on the other hand, that would be a game changer for many people!
-
@biell Motor should still work at the lower voltages. That might just be a recommended range for desired speeds.
I don't see a Kv rating anywhere which is how you'd determine the speed per voltage so we'll have to wait and see unless that info is hidden somewhere. -

Power: 2000W
-Uh-oh. That's officially not road legal up to any PEV for where I live. The last time I checked.

@sirgu Problem solved ;)
