GT production update January 14/ 2022

@sirgu LOL . . . well, my initial ship date was a few days after I got home last time in January. Then, it was supposed to ship last Monday, so thought I might have a few days to try it out. But, I have a new Pint X here on vacation with me, so that will hopefully tide me over . . . even though I'm pretty sure it won't be as exciting as the GT!

Mine got pushed (again) twice on the day of supposed shipping. (Now on 11th Mar). Luckily then i saw Jake Leary's vid and cancelled my GT.

@lia I wish i was that determined. I was...but the "pint pushback" is a dealbraker and had it with FM. Id like to decide wow fast i go and when/how i eat asphalt..Gonna hold off until something really positive convinces me otherwise;)

@maciak That's fair, I'm not a huge fan of the pushback but after enough "There was no pushback" posts FM probably had to do something. I don't tend to push past the subtle pushback my XR gives but for those that do I bet it's frustrating to have the board go nose high.
Shame it wasn't an option that can be toggled like the new audible beep the GT gives off. Heard it's actually on the board and not the app which is a bonus, not relying on bluetooth is always a plus.

@lia Im just gonna wait until there's a demo unit at the local dealer and try it..there is a (bicycle) racetrack near that shop.

yeah that would be great! like ride modes. Pint, GT, XR schemas.

@maciak Good choice, from what I've heard people are a bit on the fence.
@NotSure Totally should be an option in custom shaping to enable "highway to hell" features. Giving you some freedom over the safety options but not before agreeing to some waiver saying FM are no longer responsible for the rider's safety.

@maciak i didnt order yet. not quite sold. in the latest vid TFL board came with bad battery.
im willing to wait till they chase all the gremlins out. I REALLY hope they change pushback in the meantime. if they don't change the firmware to permit XR pushback, RFTR this year will look like a segway tour.

exactly! no persistence either. gotta go through a waiver and a consent screen each time u wanna push the limits, defaults to diaper mode each session. can even have the app surreptitiously log that behavior to defeat claims of legal indemnity.

@Lia or any other non US customer waiting on GT: I spoke to FM (about my cancellation and refund as the mail person was avoiding to give answers).
A very kind lady told me that they are having issues with international orders as FED- fuckin' -EX was giving them trouble. So if your date gets pushed this is the reason, FM seriously trying to fix that. They could not even print a return label so i can return my received accessories at this moment.FEDEX are complete aholes i can tell you. They charged me 43% of the total accessories price for importing it. Usually it's max half of that with DHL or USPS.
EDIT: imagine if i had continued with GT order that would be another €950 on customs taken by Fedex.

@maciak Ouch that bites... Is getting a refund simple enough or are FM difficult about it? I might reconsider and order through Ride & Glide since they still advertise £2160 with a pre-order cost of £750 upfront (the rest taken after).
I only got rail guards so I avoided the import charges on those, dreading what would be £800 extra if your estimates are correct.

@lia By phone they were really helpful. They transfered the refund immediately for the GT. Shipping+ accessories they will refund when they receive it back. They will send me a shipping label for that, luckily i still have a box . This latter has to be seen, they might charge a 15% restock fee on the accessories.
Fedex behaviour could be different for UK. My estimate is based on what they charged for the maghandle pro i received in Nov, and the €250 worth of accessories i received this week. They are simple thieves.
Edit: just for clarification. I ordered all items at once, as bundle.

@maciak Might hold firm and see what happens. After some thought I can't rely on Ride & Glide to get me a board in a timely manner. I ordered a set of PintX bumpers from them over 2 months ago and they arrived this morning. Cancel and start now might see me at the back of the queue + delays D:
Thanks for the heads up regardless, given me something to think about while I chase this elusive pushback fairy keeping my shipment at arms length.
