It's a modified Kush lo with four FSR 406 sensors, cable is a piece of a usb wire. I tried hot glue and silicon glue to hold the wires down but those did not stick, only kaplon tape and tie straps, the sensors come with sticky tape on the back. I used a Dremel to cut the wire grooves and plastic film over the sensors so the grip tape won't stick to them if you wanted to change the grip tape later on. If you look closely o the finished pad you can see the four sensors. I have a Xr and Pint footpad made in the same fashion and they worked flawlessly.

@lemur I've seen these sensors and wondered if they're any good. I was curious if there is enough coverage for them to work so glad to see you'd tried and confirmed it.

Happy to hear they work well, I picked up a set of those car seat sensors @ed_co once recommended to me.

Have yet to work them into something but other people have tried these too and say they work great.

I assume soldering those sensors was tricky being so close to the membrane?

@lia I wanted to try the seat senors, but they looked a little wide, but I'll try them in the future.
Soldering isn't a problem, just do it quickly.
I have a XR footpad made with four 406 sensors and rode the last part of the year with no problems.
I have a Pint footpad made up with only two sensors and that worked great too.

@lemur My only issue with the seat sensor was the delay. Could only find them in China so took forever to show up.

Nice to hear the Pint can work with just 2, locally those 406's cost like £10+ each.

@lia I got the 406s from Aliexpress @ approx $5 cdn each, but they also took long time to arrive.

@notsure my passion may not be burning but after the cushy concave foot fatigue relief of fish bones under the rug I'll recreate it on Frankenboard.

I installed the Kush low with fsr 406 sensors on my XR and tested it out on a long ride. It performed flawlessly, no false starts or ghosting.
It did take me a while to get used to the concave, it would be great if they can incorporate a "love hump" in the Kush pad. I think there is a company that made that style than OW.

Did you make the toe hook?

Yes , I made that out of 1/4" abs and doubles as a float plate.
The toe hook really helps me on the heelside turns, I snowboarded for all my life and you really need to be locked in for the heelside carve, turn or slide.

@notsure I went with the low because I wasn't sure if the sensors would conform to a deeper concave.
I think they might, I have a Kush Hi that I will try later.

@lemur cool! the bottom isn't waffled like urs is. that concave front looks awesome tho!

edit: nevermind. i dunno i thought the lo was waffled for some reason.

thats why I made a toe hook and use a flightfin for the back foot.

@sirgu honestly its the sensor pad innovations that have me most interested. concave front foot pads sound really cool.

As for myself .. aside the exitement on concaveness .. I do value the extra wideness that comes with Platypus. Although my feet are not that large (~10,5") dual platypus.jpg

Added diy CF plate as anti-ghosting and sturdy bottom plate, kush is kinda flexible;)
