@notsure I went with the low because I wasn't sure if the sensors would conform to a deeper concave.
I think they might, I have a Kush Hi that I will try later.

@lemur cool! the bottom isn't waffled like urs is. that concave front looks awesome tho!

edit: nevermind. i dunno i thought the lo was waffled for some reason.

Yes , I made that out of 1/4" abs and doubles as a float plate.
The toe hook really helps me on the heelside turns, I snowboarded for all my life and you really need to be locked in for the heelside carve, turn or slide.

thats why I made a toe hook and use a flightfin for the back foot.

          love the incorporated float plate
btw I had a Kemper bullet181 raceboard back in the day

          carving turns all year round

@sirgu honestly its the sensor pad innovations that have me most interested. concave front foot pads sound really cool.

                @notsure Understood.
As for myself .. aside the exitement on concaveness .. I do value the extra wideness that comes with Platypus. Although my feet are not that large (~10,5") dual platypus.jpg

Just an addition for the topic: Kush-lo+ pint sensor.
Added diy CF plate as anti-ghosting and sturdy bottom plate, kush is kinda flexible;)

Neither lol, hand laminated using the bottom of the pad for shaping since the front part curves up.

3(or 4, dont remember) layers of unidirectional 340g/m2 fiber.

i wonder if this could be done for the airpad? it already has a sturdy base plate. i never tried peeling off the gel tho. i'd love that. id buy it immediately.

Is the gel part not inside the pad?

that whole yellow piece is the "gel". its just soft rubber. under that is an aluminum base plate that provides the rigidity.

I get it. Well, it depends. If that pad flexes enough so the toeside pressure deforms the heelside for instance, it could lead to undesired behaviour : such as heel-lift at standstill wont disengage the board.

Also i can think of slow recovery of the pad back into shape after compression. So the moment you lift your foot the pad stays in that shape a bit longer. This would certainly lead to ghosting.

I think you can determine by the feel of that pad if it has any characteristics i described above.

thats a good point. what if the sensors are applied to the aluminum instead of the pad and covered with a low friction film of some kind? maybe kapton or pfte tape? the rubber does compress easily but it does not travel with respect to the base.

@maciak Yea, the day I posted it I had no idea the PlatySense v4 design involves single pressure sensor. Which is bummer for me. I'm keen on heel-lift disengage. :/
For now there's bunch of FB short vids of how on point sensitive it turned out.

Oh dang! I watched that vid but missed the single sensor part coz i got pissed off by how he was slamming on the stock pad like an ape. This vid is very stupid tbh.
Edit: I dont like posi either tbh. The dual pad is about the only fail-safe we have and im no trickster.
