jOneDanXR Ready for a New Home

@sirgu i saw it. pretty cool! needs a kickstand tho lol.

-
@sirgu -- Yes! I had seen the photos, but not the video until now. I would ride a Onewheel lifted like that -- probably everyday for thousands of miles -- it looks very rideable. The rails are shortened, probably for the reach of the motor cable. My EGO battery would fit nicely between the footpads. @Lia -- This does look like a Pint with the blue LED of engagement at the back of the from footpad. Personally, I would carry a mounting block with me everywhere.
-
@notsure -- Instead of a kickstand how about a short hand-leash on the mounting block. As designed and built the board looks like an industrial caster. I would lengthen the rails in back, maybe a lot, and add freewheel brakes.
-
I kinda like the idea of a kickstand that self retracts upon take off. Can't kick it down to stop though. Also like the idea of a block on a leash but hate the idea of carrying it lol. ...Agreed longer rails are necessary.
Being such a purpose built design though, I would build a purpose built box for it. Like a step that doubles as a landing/starting pad with storage.

Well, on the OneDanXR I got up to number 40 on the XR Daystreak (and number 68 in combined mileage) -- but the weather was so wet, so snowy mixed with the rain, that I did not ride any Onewheel today. It will be fun to see where I come in tomorrow -- or the next time I ride.
-
A month later, with one mile logged today, the OneDanXR came in at number 1858 on the XR Daystreak. After eight miles the number was 1057. Later still, the number was a hundred higher. So, I figure there must be about a thousand dedicated Daystreak riders with two days or more, and almost another thousand casual weekend riders -- both thousands ignoring the call to abandon ship (stop riding Onewheels).

The OneDanXR on my Nakto Classic ebike, heading for the Greenway.
-
@s-leon That actually looks pretty balanced, secure, and ride-able! Just needs some longer distance batteries and you'll be golden!
-
@onedangt -- Yes, this Nakto ebike seems more suited to, and comfortable in transporting a Onewheel than my Ancheer mountain ebike is. And the EGO battery for my Plus or V1 fits right in the front basket. The range of the ebike works well for my purpose of to-the-Greenway-and-back. True, more range for the OneDanXR would be desirable -- I'm thinking a CarvePower booster with an EGO source battery, all set up to deliver 60 volts and five or so amps. Of course, the system would need a new fender/platform -- a project for which I need to be in the mood to coordinate the variables in its build.
