GT production update January 14/ 2022

@onedangt What is the plastic like on the Bumper? I have been assuming it would be just like the plastic on the XR bumper. But, I would love to be wrong.
-
Got a shipping notification for my rail guards, coming March 7 apparently according to Fedex.
That's a week shipping from CA to UK so assuming my GT ships on the 9th I should expect the board at the earliest (assuming it isn't held at customs) on the 16th. Likely longer since they'll get my package, send me snail mail to ask for import charges then finish delivery a day or 2 after I pay it.

Here's some bumper p*rn for ya! Does that sound weird to anyone else? :D
-
@onedangt Looks good! Now the aftermarket can start tooling up for fenders, bumpers, rail protectors. Tires will be next or if we can fit the XR/Plus motor rim to the GT.
-
@onedangt Thanks, does the plastic feel the same as the XR? Assuming it is the same, I already have two sheets of UHMW plastic to make homemade float plates until there is a 3rd party solution.
I'm also glad to see they got rid of those posts which used to break all the time on the XR bumpers.

Hmmm, I don't have any spare bumpers for my XR as the posts broke on my originals and had to use the extra pair that I got with the XR a while ago, but they do feel quite strong. Would still be nice to have float plates to keep them protected.
-
@biell 100%, those posts are crap and the useless nutserts spin from the factory. I've busted all those posts on 2 sets of bumpers on my XR.
Destroy Boredom!!! by repairing badly built/design from the factory.

My rail guards arrived :D
3 days sooner than they should (1 working day)
The rails appear to be the same length however my guards have a bit of a bow to them so they don't sit flush unless the adhesive is used. That or the rails aren't straight D:
Couldn't resist ;)
Got one of those sneaking suspicions that my board will arrive on the 15th because that's the day I'm not at home (Sod's law in full swing). Customs however might come to my rescue and delay it to a day I'm actually in.
-
App has updated and you can see preview images of the GT screen... it's yellow
Also can see some new ride profiles. Apex and Highline. APEX presumably being the Delirium for the GT with the last being custom shaping. -

FM just posted they'll start shipping on Monday (though mine still says today). This means it will ship as soon as I'm on the plane for my 3 week trip! I guess it's the Pint X for me until I return, LOL.
-
@onedangt Mine's meant to be Wednesday but I'll take Monday if they can do it :D
Sorry you won't get to try out the GT as soon as it comes, hope you at least have fun with the PintX :) -
@lia Someone just posed pictures of the GT controller. Sadly not mine. Looks water resistant like the Pint, rails look like the have screw inserts.
-
@lemur Was just watching the vids FM dropped where those came from :)
Those screenies were fromReally like the looks of what they did with this, curious if the controller case is anodised black or paint since it looks real smooth.

Really? When? Nothing here.
-Just curious if it's regional or rather iOS / Android (respectively App Store / Google Play Store) dependant.@lia said :

As there are 7 dots and 'HIGHLINE' lies in between MISSION and ELEVATED.
-I'll give a raw guess: 'HIGHLINE' is GT exclusive new riding mode .. smth on contrary to Elevated mode - for riding long unsteady downhills with giving more ground clearance for tail. Plus maybe some advanced settings/presets/notifications about regeneration function. Who knows.Anyways .. the 'high beam icon' next to lights on/off leaves no other guess than lights half/full switch.
-
@lia Did you also notice it is called "MAPS" now instead of "RIDES". I am curious to see what the Mission equivalent is called. I expect to ride that mode, but will be open to trying Apex and custom.
Should we start taking bets on the other names? I'm going with Solstice to replace Sequoia and BlueRidge for Mission.
-
@sirgu Go to the app store and the "open" button should be "update" instead. IOS doesn't push updates straight away for some reason.
Good to see the extra control for the lights. Kind of surprised it wasn't just a 3 position slider instead of 2 buttons. Full - Normal - Off
@biell Oh I didn't notice, yeah they updated the name on my app too. I think I'll likely find myself sitting on whatever borders custom unless one of the former feels nicer.
-
Redtron3030 over on Reddit has shared images for each ride profile.
-
@lia Right. Been trying to find source image couple of last minutes.
EDIT: Probably this blurry image is from OW_UserManual_GT.pdfWell @biell, we don't need to figure other shaping names now. :)
Anyhow ... accordingly the bar graphics (and descriptions), only
Sequoia & Bay / Elevated / Delirium & Apex
somewhat match.
All of the others promise to be one of a kind but not entirely. And none of the GT Shapings has bar marked as max. towards the 'Trail'. :O
-
@sirgu Yep, I thought they would all be named after a consistent pattern like most of the other ones, I was wrong.
It looks like I am most likely going to be on Flow or Highline. If one of those ships default, I will probably stay on it for a while before testing the others.
Also, it looks like Digital Shaping 3.0 only has 2 variables instead of 3. So that definitely opens the door for some exploration.
