GT Rebuild

@onedangts I like them but as with most FM pads for the past few years they don't activate brilliantly. Although I'll take poor activation over ghosting 😅
Might have to add some bumps or something to add more pressure points since if the pad gets cold it doesn't activate cleanly lol.
Wanna see pics of these boards now :3

https://owforum.co.uk/post/5612 . . . that's what they look like now.
https://owforum.co.uk/post/5610 . . . better pic of the GTS.The GT was loaned to my brother-in-law to learn on, so the bumpers, rail guards and fender got pretty scratched up. It then had a controller issue so I sent it to FM to fix it and I swapped the return address to my Hawaii place while they had it and they shipped it back there (FM life hack to get your board shipped somewhere, LOL). Like a new board, it got to Hawaii in 3 days as well! Once I get there in March, I'll put on the new TFL rail guards and the sharpie/clear nail polish repaired fender along with the new tire (will keep that secret until the reveal).

@onedangts Look amazing! Love the little tip for the return delivery too. I'll keep that in mind.
Can't wait for the reveal ^-^
-
@onedangts Did FM update to haptic buzz? Seems like FM updates every board sent in for repair.
-
@lemur I had already updated it as I don't ride up to or past pushback and I wanted the custom shaping.
-
@lia No reveal yet, but I swapped to a GOAT tire today (had a 2,000 mile Enduro with worn out shoulders). The GOAT is really nice, very similar to the Hoosier Treaded Whisper T2 on the OneDanXR. Compared to the Pint X I was riding here, the GT with the new tire is night and day!
The Enduro came off in like 2 minutes and the GOAT went on just as fast. The 2 beads popped at 50 and 60 psi. Overall, a somewhat painless process compared to the 2 days it took me to swap out the OEM tire on the Pint X when I first got it.

Anyway to recalibrate the GT after the update?
My stupid self updated and am now stuck with this weird tilt when riding backwards with wtf rails. Still good riding forward because of adjustable nose tilt. But trying to recalibrate so there isn’t this wonky imbalance from forward to reverse. -
@yommoto
[Not a GT/GT-S rider in person, but] AFAIK there is (still) no nRF digi-tilt capability for those boards after recent major update. FM prevented this for GT/GT-S platform, so ppl would forcefully "enjoy" their 'Custom Shaping 3.0' feature instead of angled aftermarket rails (or both together). And this is also why TFL came up with 'Dub Tails' design for this target group -- so at least rear half end of the board remains W-shaped.
Correct me if I am wrong at some point. -
Are you still rocking the lowboy foot pads?
Thinking about swapping mine out as I get activation issues sometimes and its super annoying and I would prefer a more mellow concave too. -
@silversurfer Lowboys are the same. In the cold I have activation issues :(
-
@lia ah bugger it, I was hoping it was just the hard concave that was causing it where you might not be touching the sensor properly.
Never mind.
Thanks for getting back to me. -
@wheelwizard So little update. I got a cheap Surestart Pro off ebay and it's made activating the pad so much better.
Might be worth picking one up if you're still having issues as it's pretty sweet and easy to install :) -
@lia oh wow that's great I will have to take a look, it has been happening but not as much.
Thanks for letting me know. -
@lia You can also do software "posi" with FFM if your GT has not been updated.
Just need the Gt encrypted ota file. -
@lemur I like keeping it dual zone for dismount so the surestart was ideal :)
Haven't updated any of my boards so may give it a go if I still have issues later -
@lia I need to take a look at the GT custom shapings to be fair as the single zone allows you to still heal lift I did not know until I watched the shaping vid
