      @loaffette how about just a simple bicycle lock/chain/padlock ?
      Too easy ? Or a nuisance to have to carry around ?

        @puzz360
        Too heavy and I'm talking about when I step off to talk to someone or if someone asks to ride it/try it out.

        Think of it like you own a car dealership and someone asks to test drive a car, but they start the car and drive off before you can even open the passenger side door.

        A bike lock won't do you good if the board is out of reach, unless you can throw a chain pretty far and with good accuracy.

        113 volts?! I could lick that!

          @loaffette maybe you need VESC with the remote control…
          Then you can gradually lower the nose and reduce them to a stop or something…. ?

            @puzz360 Added bonus to that suggestion is you can pretend it ran out of battery and avoid any potential fallout from them wanting to ride more.

              @loaffette -- "Attractive nuisance" comes to mind. When taking a break talking to friends keep a hand or foot on the Onewheel -- standing it on end the reach is almost right. Get a signed release protecting you from liability from those most likely to want to ride. And tell them, if they want to ride so bad, to get their own Onewheel!

                @loaffette -- A tether to you, like one of those retractable dog leashes, could discourage free-riders from taking your XR for an unauthorized spin.

                  @loaffette ppl are gonna walk all over you. already do imo. id lock my board down, then learn some judo.

                  imo anyone keen on ignoring your while they ride your shit that isnt a close friend is untrustworthy.

                  XR's got what plants crave!

                    I'm with @S-Leon in that I always keep my board in my possession, never leave it just sitting there on the ground, especially if it's turned on. So easy to just hold it upright while standing there. If it's a longer time, it's turned off and either under my foot if standing or under my chair or booth if sitting.

                    I also refuse to let anyone try it without a helmet of their own. Not lending my helmet. Anyone 16 or under needs verbal permission from a parent, who I will discuss the dangers of riding with and, again, will need a helmet.

                    I'm also not afraid to refuse a ride to anyone for any reason . . . just like the signs in the restaurant where they can refuse service to anyone. No tech required for these solutions. :D

                      Well, I'm more awake now (And cold, I'll post pictures later)

                      I'll try what S.Leon and OneDanGT mentioned first really. I don't like getting into confrontations or stirring the pot (or at least scared of doing so). Next time I'm on a ride, I'll give the suggestions a try.

                        @loaffette The Owie chip has a "lock " feature, I never enabled that feature in my boards that have an Owie chip as I'm bad at remembering passwords.
