In the wild with my Leaderboard V1 by the Grand River of Northeast Ohio.
-
@s-leon that looks really pleasant!
-
@notsure -- Sometimes by the river it is buggy and humid. Sometimes the river shows its rockiness in this stretch when nearly dry. Here, too, there was a six or eight foot, loose soil, undercut drop straight down to shallow water. I did not actually ride so close -- I placed my V1 to pose for the shot.
And while I negotiated well down the loose gravel trail to the river, going back I had to carry the V1 up a couple of sections. Interestingly, Elevated mode does not lift the nose until you actually start moving -- just engaging does not make it lift -- so it was difficult to mount going up a fair slope. An easier riverside trail does exist a little further downstream -- maybe I will ride that one again soon. -
Steep-ish decent down to a stream. Basically a valley with hills on both sides. Notice the switchback on the left side, starting top to bottom and the Onewheel down by the stream. Need more angles, not going to attempt to upload a panoramic lol.
-
@blkdout At first, I was like you forgot to get your Onewheel in the picture. Then, oh wait, there it is. WTFs or FAFs?
I think we need to start a "Where's Waldo" thread for finding Onewheels.

Okay now that's a great idea!
Maybe each week one person makes one then the first person to guess gets to do one for next week (or whenever, doesn't need to be a chore).
Can use spoiler tags to hide answers so those browsing can play along. -
Browsing the Archive, this is a link to my favorite thread, the "In the Wild..."
My favorite photos are the hornets' nest, the praying mantis, and the apple blossoms. But I am truly impressed with the Australian python, the weasel, the fox, the porcupine, the baby skunks, the baby raccoon, the hare, all the snakes, turtles, and frogs -- and the delicate and/or strong wildflowers! And not to forget, the fan-dance sycamore leaf, and the Abominable Snow Creature... All with Onewheels, or evidence of Onewheels in the pictures!
-
@biell WTF's in the pic but I swap back and forth often. FAF's are so fun.
A Where's Waldo or scavenger hunt thread would be awesome!

A few snakes
I normally see a few a year here on the American River Parkway, but haven't seen any this year.
-
@S-Leon I see SO many snakes early Spring and throughout Summer. Had a few near misses but never thought to get a photo with the OW. I'll try next year, it's too cold for them now. Those look like cute little Brown Snakes... ?
A maple tree shedded some leaves on the trail so I cleared them away with a blower and thought this would make a nice pic:
-
@blkdout -- I think you are correct, maybe Dekay's brown snake. And yes, they are cute -- thin and small. Over the week I saw maybe two dozen of them on about eight miles of trail. I also saw ribbon snakes this week, a couple of water snakes, and one probably milk snake. The specimens of snakes I see don't always match the photos I find on the internet -- lots of variation, I think.
-
@s-leon Yeah, the Dekay's in my area look different than those but still telltale similarities. I mostly have Browns, Garters, Waters and Black Rats. I've only seen one or two Milk Snakes and they are absolutely beautiful. Wish there were more.
If you're on Reddit, r/whatsthissnake is great resource for ID. They are very scientific about their identification and don't put up with guesses or jokes. Misidentifying a snake could mean life or death so they take it pretty seriously.
