GT production update January 14/ 2022

@lia Well, it's a bummer, but also probably the right thing to do. There is probably a pretty large backorder of international GTs, so if the dealers near you are thinking June, it's probably a toss up as to who would get it first, but the money you'd save would surely make it worthwhile.
The real bummer is not being able to get on one! I've been riding the GT exclusively (XR still not recharged from 45% since I got home). I like everything about it except the hard tire. I'm down to 15 psi now (I weigh about 185) and while it's now at an acceptable amount of wobbliness (or lack thereof), it still bounces off every little bump as though I'm riding on a round rock (like a Flintstone's tire)! LOL I do plan on riding the XR this week to compare, so will make a plan to keep/sell after that. I also have the coveted 4209!
But the torque and the lack of ANY surges or struggling of the board underneath me is such a different ride, not to mention the 25+ mile range for me. I actually have to plan a stop midway to rest my feet/legs. I switched from Highline to Apex for my last ride, as I ride my XR in Delirium, and I don't think I'll go back, it's just so responsive. Do to the rocky ride, I'm taking new paths carefully, but my old paths are feeling quite comfortable. Not sure I want to go much lower than 15 psi, but I may inch it down 1 or 2. As seen in TFL how low can it go vid, seems the tire is just hard and no amount of low psi is gonna soften it up.

Fingers crossed all the kinks are sorted out before June. Apparently manufactuing for the footpads has been updated so seems like they might have fixed the ghosting moving forward (fingers crossed, we're lucky nothing hugely bad has happened yet). The shipping issue might have actually saved FM so much grief with international returns.I wasn't keen on the tire reviews. After enjoying the Hoosier slick D20 for the past few days I can safely say I don't fancy going back to something stock. That said with @Lemur's modifications and a handful of 3rd parties giving it a go a hub swap might be a possibility for getting better rubber on your board soon.
Will admit I would love the responsiveness. My 4208 is actually less responsive than a 4206 for some reason. It's subtle but I can feel the difference. When I can get my hands one one it will be a huge plus not having to baby some hills or popping up a curb.

@lia Let me know if you ever want to convert your GT to an XR rim later on, I can send you a shim and/or a centering kit .

@lia I'm really not interested in selling as it takes away from me moving on to another project. I rather give it away, but that's just me.

Sooooo, I dropped the psi down to 14 today and can't believe that the ultra hardness seems to be much improved. I can still hear the small cracks in the pavement, but don't really feel them anymore. Could be the tire wearing in finally (I'm just over 150 miles) or maybe the 10 degree warmer weather today, but nothing else changed. I hit some familiar dirt paths and it was more well behaved on those as well. Rode 22 miles and never got off the board, with very little fatigue.

Yesterday being waiting since November, I wanted to cancel my GT order and I requested via mail. Curiosly, today for the first time my order is in production, and 6 days prior to yesterday's date...
Anyway, I want to cancel. I am really tired of the situation. -

Can anyone see what is missing??? Apparently all Onewheels doesn't include the OG, Plus, or XR. And, I am supposed to trust them to support me without RTR for what reason again? What amazes me is that, how they work, they didn't even think of doing this. It would have been soooooooo easy just to throw a Vega up there, but nobody probably even noticed that it was missing.

didn't know where else to put this, but i ran into the first person i've seen with a GT out in the wild today. I was eating lunch as a local bar/restaurant, and this guy rides up on one with a little kid, him on the GT, his son on an OG Pint. They were also with a friend on an electric long board. Anyway, i just HAD to go up and ask him what he thought about the GT. the longboard friend rolled his eyes and said, "Ohhh, DUDE" and laughed, and his friend with the GT said "You're the second person today to ask me. i LOVE this thing -- and it's my first day on it! it only has like a 30 miles on it."
he said he originally rode his son's Pint and likes it, but he's a bigger guy -- i think he said he weighs 260 lbs -- so the Pint just couldn't power him up hills, but it was perfect for his son. he said the GT has NO problems with him being a big dude. he was all smiles. Just wanted to let you all know that there's GTs out there and people are having a ball with them.

@franko Mine just turned 700 miles and I can vouch for the fun factor! It was one of the first ones shipped, so I was worried a bit, especially since I had just left for a 3 week vacation the day it arrived. Worked perfectly, but after 300 miles I had them ship me a new front pad "just in case". Rode my XR once a few weeks in, but decided to sell it since I wasn't really using it much at all. I've never been a fast rider, but my daily rides always top out at between 19 to 20 mph whereas on the XR top speed was normally under 18.

@onedangt yeah, this guy said he has/had an XR too, and that what he really loves about the GT is that it has the maneuverability of the Pint, but the range of the XR, plus the extra power to get him up hills and over any terrain. while i love my OG Pint, i admit i'm a little lusty over the GT.

@franko Where I am now, my CBXR is my trail board (and it keeps raining on the weekends, so not getting much love) and my GT is everything else. The GT doesn't get the same range as my CBXR, but it is so much more fun to ride b/c of the new GT pushback. I'm a little past 500 miles.
I don't know what's going to happen when I do my Plus/GT hub swap and get ElectricBigfoot Hoverpads for the GT, it is going to be hard not to ride all the time.
