@biell Sure will do! Honestly no single CBXR fits in the casing properly. It's not that the foam only compresses. If you measure, even visual you will see a slight bulge both on the lid and casing. I too had not much issue installing it, just hold down by hand and cross-tighten the bolts. But this force is not to be underestimated. Now if i remove the lid i can put it back on an it just falls into place without pressure.
-
@biell What i got so far:
-Badgerwheel makes the casing.
-ETA about 3 months
-Compatible with stock harness
-NOT compatible with stock lid
-Has it's own lid!
-NOT compatible with existing bumpers
-Great waterproofing (logical if Badger makes em;)
-Price around $100, cheaper possible if there's enough demand for it
-He will try to have made compatible bumper at time of release.
-CBXR will fit no problem!Confirmed: it comes with a lid and CBXR fits. Will edit this post if i have the info. No supplier i contact actually answers all questions asked. Pretty fuckin annoying as i do not correspond in Arabic..

@maciak Thank you, this is great information. It is a shame that it won't support BANG bumpers. But, given what they are trying to accomplish, that is understandable. I will definitely be keeping my eye out. And, at an ETA of 3 months, would likely recommend to anyone thinking about a CBXR to hold off and see what they release.

@biell Above updated: comes with lid, CBXR will fit no problem!

Bit off topic: IT'S ALIVE!
Just need Ali to deliver my 20s chargerš¤£

@maciak You tease, I need to see some build pics :D
-
@lia Lol i was just assembling some parts to see if my custom harness fits and to explore the focer..before i knew it the build was complete (except yesterday, different story) but i will re-do it for a complete reference). I cannibalised the + box lid for the printed battery case. Looks over-wired but i prepared the lot for a revised version of rEscue/lights. Dunno if it will fit thoughš¤£.

@ed_co I think you'd enjoy seeing some of that :)
Following his process since the very beginning. Of course I like it ;)

Well, things get even more promising. If you can buy a VESC in it's own Plus compatible controller box with OW connectors, then that really makes it much, much, much more accessible.
At this point, I think it is unlikely FM changes there tune enough that my next board won't be a VESC. I'm pretty happy for now with my Two-X, CBXR, and GT. But, this is very likely the next evolution of my Plus rails and motor (coupled maybe with something like the battery box mentioned earlier and a Chi battery).
-
@biell I just came back from my first ride on 20s. Think "Tuco" will be my main board, its unreal.
-
@maciak Does your battery pack have a BMS to balance the cells, or do you have to do something to balance them, or is that not an issue for some other reason?
-
@biell the 15s setup i just charged unbalanced, worked fine.
On this setup i have a charge-only bms. -
@biell im also considering this option. i have a pint and an XR already. id prefer to vesc the pint over the XR tbh. i also think that a Pint version would be a good idea bc so many of those are gonna be trash soon.
-
-
@notsure For me the choice is pretty obvious since i dont have a pint and need a "longboard" type anyway;)

Gotcha, that is the most important part. Cell-level low voltage cuttoff is also important, but if you can stop charging when the pack is full and keep the pack balanced, then you deal with the risks on the lower end.
-
@notsure Sorry;)
So my ride:
34km paved and pretty hard trails. Avg 35kph cruise on pave.
Speeds: Pushback set @80% (of available capacity). The lower the battery gets, the earlier pushback comes. At the top-end of the pack i hit 45kph, before pushback. I eased down and continued most of paved part between 35 and 40kph. Started hitting pushback after using over 65% of the battery. At nearly empty pack still confidently hitting 34kph, sometimes pushback kicked in on accellerating carves. Could have upped the limit to 85% but i did not feel like getting off the board.Torque. Crazy. Never felt like even close to nosedive. Imagine going up a dirt hill with XR where it will slow down, bury the nose and shutdown?
On this thing i can ride up, stop in the middle, push down the nose and continue.
Nudging a curb at low speeds is like going up a "bonk" bump. Just climbs up.Ride feel The butteryness of Mission with Delirium when i need it. It's so damn smooth. I can imagine beginner riders will find it tricky cause it feels even less artificial than Mission. Just so smooth.
I just need my damn varials cause im not used to riding straight rails anymore.
So 420wh battery lasted me 34km into capt morgan. Might get over 40 if not pushed that hard.

that all sounds really good! almost too good... Is it better than the GT?
-
@notsure Ship me your GT so i can compare?
