Tfl Enduro tire

I just preordered a TFL enduro tire, at the $109 price and won't be shipping until June, however for $129 it will be shipped March 11.
Hoping to fit it on my GT, but it's 6.5 inches wide , it may rub.

@lemur Let us know how that rides, it looks like a pretty cool tire.
Presumably coming from TFL it has the performance and ride quality to match. -
@lemur This model is only for the XR and previous models, it won't fit on a GT. It is a "-6" and the GT needs a "-6.5". Did I misunderstand what you were saying?
I also ordered 2, but without the expedited shipping as my tire is fairly new, and I don't plan on trying one on my Plus or XR until they start to not hold air.

@biell I converted my GT to an XR 6" rotor. I riding on a Burris treaded now.
I'm machining a custom axle block to center the XR rotor back on center as It's 0.138" off center, this TFL Enduro tire looks more square and I think it may rub. -
@biell GTXR wheel centering: I'm using the shim method of GTXR conversion, with this conversion the wheel is offset to the left if you're standing behind the board, the offset doesn't affect the how it handles
I spent the afternoon machining a axle block for the mag handle side to move the XR rotor/wheel over to the left by 0.138", I was hoping this measurement was correct, that measurement turned out to be exact. The other side uses the stock axle block but uses a 0.138" spacer to make up for the difference.
The reason I wanted to center the wheel was the TFL Enduro tire looks really square, is 11x6.5x6 and it may be wider.
The main disadvantage with this axle block version is that I lost the Mag handle as I couldn't figure a way to use my existing machine tools to fabricate the mag handle pivot. I still have to round off the corners and detail it.

@lemur That's right, I forgot that you did that. And, that makes sense why you were worried about the x6.5 center contact. I will be interested to hear how the Enduro rides on a GT.
The Enduro has a progressive sidewall. My guess is that TFL will be spending time trying to perfect the -6.5 version for the standard hub also, so it might not be just a small mold change from one to the other. That also means that there might be greater differences to the way it rides versus your GTXR.

Do you have CAD abilitties, would you be able to create the pieces, to be machined?
I think it would help more folks with the GTXR conversion. -
@ed_co No, I don't have cad capabilities, sorry. I'm the last of the old school that draw plans on a napkin and figures out the procedures and machining in my head.
My lathe and milling machine are all manual with DROs.
I finished the offset axle project today.

so the new enduro tire i ordered 3 wks ago arrived today and it has that new tire smell!
now what? i put the thing in the hole? i can handle that. i'll take pictures.

@notsure Looks like TFL is testing a preproduction 6.5" Enduro tire for the GT. That will put a small dent in the XR/Plus rotor sales, only the og tires and the future Enduro for now in 6.5". Still more tire choices in 6".

Finally got my August 15 pre-order GT Enduro tire yesterday. Got the stock treaded off (10 mins, now that I have some experience AND tire spoons!) and the Enduro installed last night. Dropped on the recall fixed sensor pad as well.
Took it out on my typical daily ride and the best description I can give is "confidence inspiring"! Coming from the bowling ball that is the FM OEM treaded, it's a huge improvement. Feels like when I put the Hoosier treaded on my XR the first time. The carving is super smooth and you can feel the sidewalls give just a bit to round out the carves. When doing super wide carves, it's the closest feeling to snowboarding I've ever felt on a OW. Small bumps and cracks have disappeared and larger ones don't try to buck you off the board like the OEM. It's whisper quiet on pavement and on the little bits of off road I ride, it's so forgiving that I immediately found myself going at least 2 or 3 mph faster and not worrying as much about taking the smoothest lines.
The old tire has 2000 miles on it and you can barely see any tread wear. Being so much softer, I'm hoping I can get at least that with the Enduro. I rode it at the same 18 psi that I'm used to and got pretty much the same mileage, maybe even a bit better.
For me, the Enduro lives up to all the hype and I can't imagine putting the OEM back on ever. I do worry about riding my Pint X/Hoosier treaded on vacation as, before, it was on par with the GT/OEM treaded . . . now, I'm thinking it will feel way worse in comparison.
