Onewheel suspension build
-
Reposting here as the old Onewheel forum is gone.
This is my version of a Onewheel suspension build.
-Pint motor for swingarm clearance
-Single air shock swing arm
-custom rails
-Onewheel Plus controller for now, but I have the option of XR or vesc controller
-Kush Lo front footpad with FSR 406 (4) sensors
-14 s 2p battery
-XR bumpersNot quite finished, I have to make short fenders and either paint, power coat or cover them with rail guards.

@lemur Are these recent pics? It looks so good!
Like actually looks like something you'd buy especially with that finish. With those footpads I bet that's a real smooth ride.
-
@lia Thank you. The picture is recent and the metal parts have been power coated. I'll put a covering over the rails.
-
@lemur here's my money.
-
would love to put this on my Frankenboard w/extended rails and the Duro 11x5-6 treaded. similar look
I can picture the integrated splash gaurds and fins now -
@lemur I had a problem with tail drag on hard braking due to the suspension squat, so I fabricated a swingarm shock extension.
The extension lifts the board up about 25mm unweighted, I will test it tomorrow, hopefully that will make a difference.
Bottom picture is lifted, hard to tell -
@lemur Eager to see how this works out!

@lemur This is so beautiful, a masterpiece. Im def not looking for suspension but it's so tempting i almost ordered kiil to try. Maybe in 10 years when i really start needing it;)

@maciakThank you. Suspension boards have drawbacks and advantages, with suspension, you lose the direct connection to the board. A bit of softening for turning , acceleration and braking, but you can ride longer without leg fatigue. A non suspension board , there is no delay in your input, like a sports car compared to a family sedan.
The last nosedive I had was with Kiilguards on a Xr when I pushed too hard to accelerate and the suspension dropped the nose and I went down. -
@lemur So far im able to ride 50km in one go (cbxr) without any issues so fatigue is no problem yet. Weirdly enough riding WTF rails in mission (bit nose-down) even increased the comfort level more. But it must be a sweet sensation having an enhanced floaty feeling. I would certainly miss the connection with board and terrain i think. Still will try a suspension board as soon as i get the chance!
