Future Motion announcement in twelve hours

@onedangt thanks!
Though what do you think they will do this time? Smaller GT, a cheaper GT?I'm thinking it's going to be a lighter GT, or a GT with a higher voltage or some sort of budget GT to compete with the floathwheel
-
@loaffette I'm hoping for something with better torque and acceleration . . . I mean, to me, top speed is already faster than I want to go flying off, so anything to make it smoother and more responsive works for me. Of course, if it's lighter and goes further as well, I would not complain.
-
@onedangt Someone in my local ride group dug up a FM patent on a suspension system, so my running theory is either a Floatwheel competitor or a GT with suspension

I comfortably push the high teens and low twenties just cruisin around the neighborhood. High twenties on pavement would be a dream.
I think an ORL subscription will be the only way they lift the speed limit. You pay the sub, unlock the board, sign the waver, and also fund the competition. It'll work!
That said... Look at Jeff with his coffee cup.
-
@notsure
ORL? No clue what that is.Also we'll know in about 56 minutes, seeing as the live stream is soon.
Still jealous of Jeff pushing 28.2. Can barely push 22 on my stock XR battery, VESC. -

Yeah, then he spins around and rides backwards holding the phone and coffee cup talking into the camera! I met him when we had both just started riding. He was on his V1, I was on my plus. Obviously, he has progressed WAY more than I have as I can't even ride switch, lol. I'm using the excuse that I was 57 at the time!
-
We've got four minutes until gametime on the stream
I'm skipping lunch and thankfully my Thermodynamics class has been dropped today so I get to watch this.I will summarize what we get in the livestream
-
@loaffette holy crap it looks fast, no obvious pushback on it
-
@loaffette so it's called the Onewheel GT-S
(S Series)Apparently it was originally made for race for the rail

@lia damn, 113 volts. That's the highest voltage I've seen in any onewheel
I could lick that!
-
@loaffette It's pretty high. Molicel P45 were mentioned in the live video so I suspect it's all series cells and nothing parallel.
$3200 seems a bit steep though. Not sure how many will bite for that.
-
@lia onewheel.com is back up
GT is now 2,300
Pint X is now 1,500
Pint has not been changed -
i mean, i get where they are going -- they want to push the sport, and that's fine -- but meh, this clearly isn't for me. nothing about excites me. i'm not a trail rider, and i'm not a speed junkie. i'm glad they are improving them in general, though, and i hope this means they will release a comparable street machine next.
-
@franko Same. I'm all about range so this is the opposite of what I personally want but I can see the racers loving this.
Already discussing this with Fungineers about plans. It's gonna give us some new goals for sure in terms of DIY builds.
-
@loaffette just realized the voltage for the cells is going off of 4.2, not 3.7v
They may be fudging the numbers on this.
113/3.7=30
113/4.2=27 -

@loaffette Numbers check out.
GT is 18s
GT-s is likely 27sThey claim a 50% boost in voltage. If 27s is 150%, 27/1.5=18
