How do you guys actually figure out how you want your boards to look like?

OK, so I'm about to go and buy floatplates, rim savers and maybe some rail guards, but I'm trying to figure out the color scheme or what my board would look like with the items I'm going to get before I actually buy the parts
Do you guys have a good way of figuring out how your boards are going to look with the stuff you buy, or do you just hope and pray it turns out right?

@loaffette I basically get black everything, black goes with everything so I know it will work. Not exactly what you were looking for, I know. But, when in doubt you can't go wrong with black.

Such a personal preference! They go from black to rainbows all over the internet. I personally like predominating black with some intense RGB accent (one pick, not all of 'em) OR monochrome solutions (one dominant color in dif shades with some minor black/white/gray).
-Using pastellic and 'broken colors' is going on a slippery road unless you know what you are really into. On the other end .. 'neon' is cool .. only till it matches the character. -
@loaffette For me, I just got something I liked the look of. I didn't stress over what Slush might look like. Eventually I came across those rail guards that I loved the look of (reminded me of slush puppies hence her name) so I got them and added accessories where needed after,
Is there a thing you really like that you might want to maybe theme the board after?
