That said it will surely leave a sour taste for some.

On the GT DayStreak JoMatty is the first and only -- with one day and four miles at 2:54 pm Ohio time!
Interestingly no entry is yet listed on the GT mileage Leaderboard.
-
At 2:58 pm Ohio time a new entry on the GT Daystreak: SloeDean at #2 with one mile.
-
The GT mileage Leaderboard has a five-way tie (in alphabetical order) for 3rd -- all with zero miles. (at 3:06 pm Ohio time)
-
Six GT miles for JoMatty at 3:21 pm Ohio time... Now seven at 3:23 pm Ohio time.
-
A third rider has shown: Jaydanhoward tied at GT #2 -- 3:30 pm Ohio time. That bumps the other four to fourth place (with zero miles).
-
Pulling into strong GT second now at 3:36 pm Ohio time: Jaydanhoward with 2 GT miles!

JoMatty must be watching because they are again on the move -- now at 3:48 pm Ohio time, 8 GT miles.
And at 3:50 pm, JoMatty has nine GT miles.

A fourth active GT rider: silvacyles tied for third with their first GT mile at 3:52 pm Ohio time.
So... that's how it all transpired during the first hour of action on the the GT Leaderboards!

My 5 minutes of fame on the GT mileage leaderboard. Hit 101 miles after 46 hours of ownership. Charging the bad boy up to see if I can sneak back on there for another few mins. As most of you know, I’m not a high-speed, high mileage rider but a high altitude rider who loves shredding the gnarliest single tracks I can find. Unfortunately all the local trails are covered under a foot or more of snow. I’ve got a V1 streak to maintain and a couple XRs that deserve attention as well. -
@hanahsdax I didn't know you got a GT. Nice one!
Going to need a full on review on how you like it, eagerly awaiting mine to ship.Hope to see you climbing those ranks, need a gnarly leafblower to clear your track as you ride ;)

Getting busy now, huh? LOL!

I'd second that! For sake of Dax's experiences.

@lia Thanks! Yeah I ordered on launch day within the first hour. If FedEx didn’t suck it would’ve been here Thursday evening but it got stuck en route and then showed up almost frozen as the day it was delivered was a high temp of 18 degrees Fahrenheit. Had to let it warm up for a couple hours before I even turned it on to make sure it worked. Then had to wait a couple more hours to let it charge completely. Got 30 miles with 15% battery left riding fairly conservative on it’s first charge.
The pros outweigh the cons so far in my experience.
The ghosting issues are for real. I’ve had two instances in which the sensor didn’t deactivate. Luckily I had read posts about it happening so when it happened the first time I was aware of the possibility of a runaway and was able to grab it by the nose handle. The second time I wasn’t as lucky and it slammed into a concrete wall giving G Thang her first beauty mark. I’ll post more about it soon. -
@HanahsDax I hesitated for a bit, not sure why as the purchase was inevitable so ordered mine later in the day and did paypal's "pay in 3".
The pros outweigh the cons so far in my experience.

Confirmed, You are indeed some sort of superhero with reflexes like that.
Sad to hear about the second incident but at least its now out of the "keep it pristine" side of ownership and also knowing it can take on both a rock or hard place while coming out on top.
-
@hanahsdax -- Climbing up the GT Mileage Leaderboard, you are now at #7. Active now on two Leaderboards! (noted at 10pm Ohio time)

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but seeing as someone in our rather small community here has seen this problem, just want to add my comments.
As I've mentioned, my GT was one of the first to ship and is sitting at home in the box and I won't be back until the end of the month. I'm watching this issue unfold and it does seem that quite a few folks are mentioning the problem. Some seem quite serious/dangerous, while others, like @HanahsDax, more or less under control. While I don't really believe it's a widespread issue, I do believe that even 1 or 2 ghost boards is a problem.
I'll stay abreast of this until I get home, but right now I'm thinking I'll attach a leash to the mag handle and hold it in my hand, just in case. Two scenarios I want to avoid are 1) the worst case of my board injuring someone and 2) my board ghosting off into the Sacramento river that I ride along! LOL
Additionally, if my GT doesn't disengage even once when I'm not on it, I'll be getting FM to fix it ASAP. There's no way a OW should stay engaged when no rider is aboard.
-
@onedangt @HanahsDax Forgot to say, FM are offering to replace faulty pads if they’re ghosting. They do ask for the faulty one to be shipped back first though so no riding till you get the new one.
Source -
@lia Yeah, saw that. I kinda wonder if that's the entire problem though, as one person said it was ghosting upside down! That shouldn't happen even if the front pad is defective.
-
@OneDanGT btw ghosting upside down is nothing new. Unfortunately gotta log into FB to see this particular video.
There's this turnover phrase now: Use fender to reduce risk for repetitive runaways!
-
HanahsDax now at GT Mileage Leaderboard #4!
...and currently riding and adding more miles at 7:15 pm Ohio time.
