@s-leon Good to know about the output current. I might have to go all out see if I can trigger it on my normal ride to be sure my setup won't turn into the next Christine adaptation.
Will be fun to drag this kit out of retirement!

@lia -- Off-topic, but those Plato shears hanging on your pegboard are the same I use snipping the cracked shells of black walnuts to deliver nice, whole quarters of nutmeats.
After gathering the nuts in their green hulls, hulling them under the wheel of a DR Powerwagon, cleaning the messy hulled nuts in a cement mixer, and drying , aging, and storing the remarkably, very clean nuts in fifty pound lots in squirrel-proof hardware cloth tubes, I crack the nutshells, about two quarts at a sitting, usually with a powerful electric nutcracker, although sometimes with a vise, or a hand black-walnut-nutcracker. Then I snip, snip, snip off the cracked shells by hand, throwing the nutmeats into a colander to drop out any small pieces of shell that might get by my eye. And, yes, I occasionally use a Onewheel to fetch and carry.
Beautiful booster set-up, by the way!

@lia I may have missed something, I thought you had a XR too.
-
@lemur I do have the XR (in the pic) but I'll be riding that. I need something to keep up for my friendo to ride with that's visiting :)
There is an 4209 controller/BMS waiting for a body. If I had a battery I'd drop that in the Plus body but I haven't acquired one yet.
@S-Leon Aha that's pretty funny, I got those to replace my other side-snips from my 3D printer since they tend to dull and break.... like when your sis uses them to cut guitar strings instead of using the massive tin snips I said to use >.>
-
After some consideration the old charger might not be ideal. It was pretty heavy (8.4kg) and bulky. Okay it held a lot of juice but probably there's a reason I then built that brick of a 63v battery instead.
The alternative is the Ego battery solution but they're expensive >.> £210 for the 5Ah battery and £95 for the 2.5Ah battery.
Cells aren't that pricey though. Currently I can pickup 28x Molicel P42A 21700 for £3.75 each which would give me a 8.4Ah battery for only £105 (excluding BMS).
Now... that is the wholesale site which I'm almost certain I shouldn't be using... buuuuut they didn't stop me buying the cells for my last battery and these are 41% the price as the retail site sooooooooo...
So push comes to shove I might make this battery and use a fender I got from the V1 since it's pretty durable. Not stoked on making a battery I'll rarely use but I also don't feel great making someone use that old setup
Thoughts~?

@lia buy a lawnmower at home depot then return it. it makes a scary sound!
-
@notsure That would be a good idea. Hmmm.
Amazon do have returns within 30 days but not sure how that'll go. Tempting though, hadn't considered that lol... definitely fits my vibe as of late.

In holiday mode, yesterday I revisited my box of voltage boosters. Pictured is the booster I got from CarvePower; the number on the circuit board is QS-4884CCCV-1800W. Googling that number I found a PDF manual for adjusting settings.
The tiny little straight slot screw in the green magnifier near the OUT wires adjusts output; for my Plus and V1 set to around 53 or 54 volts. It's a straight-forward, simple set if you have a volt meter connected.Near the IN wires the tiny little straight slot screw in the blue magnifier adjusts the source voltage cut out. From the factory it is set around 10 volts -- not good for 36 volt bike batteries nor, in another case, for EGO batteries. To set this one I used a source battery which was at the voltage point that I wanted the cut-out. Backing off the adjustment screw until the blue UVLO light came on, then I fine tuned the threshold of it.
In the red magnifier in the middle is the current adjustment. To adjust this the booster needs to be under load -- like recharging a discharged battery. From what I read the factory setting is about 10 amps -- which seems like it will be fine to me.
Output voltage for a Onewheel Plus or V1. The current draw is an incandescent light bulb -- Thank you @Lemur for the idea.
The set-up at below the low voltage cut-out. The blue light -- not really that bright -- indicates the the threshold has been crossed. And, look at the output voltage -- it is now the SAME as the battery voltage, meaning it is no longer boosting current. So... at that point... I am riding on fumes. In my boosters and parts box I also have a green MPPT, which is easier to set for OUTPUT and AMPERAGE -- although I am not sure about setting low voltage cut-out on it. And I have two other boosters very similar to the CarvePower in adjustment, but slightly different (two 20 amp fuses instead of three is one difference). One of these slightly different boosters I have set like the CarvePower unit boosting up 36 volts to 54 volts for Plus and V1; the other set for boosting an EGO battery to Onewheel XR voltage. On these boosters I needed to chip off glue around the set screws in order to make the adjustments.

Boosting the OneDanXR range could get it to start climbing the mileage leaderboard a bit faster in the future! :D
-
@onedangt -- With your mileage logged and mine, the OneDanXR is doing well in ranking -- at #67 and holding. Climbing in mileage and Daystreak rank can wait, though, for better weather -- and, yes, the booster should help give the OneDanXR a boost in the rankings. Leaderboard, though? "Blue" at the bottom in tenth place has almost double the mileage of yours and mine on the OneDanXR put together. And @Lia has been patiently riding and waiting for her restoration to the XR Daystreak Leaderboard way for longer than I have even set foot on the OneDanXR. You are much closer to a Onewheel Leaderboard with your OneDanGT!... than I am with the OneDanXR!

I said I'd be back and I'm keeping to that promise :)
That said I'm probably going to visit @cheppy44 some time next year so it might end unless I bring Slush's controller with me and find an XR frame to drop her into.
