jOneDanXR Ready for a New Home
-
@onedangt -- The only modifications I would make to the OneDanXR are adding a BadgerSense, so I could push the speed without worry, and installing fresh bearings. Content with my Pluses, mostly I am curious -- my total time riding XRs so far is less than five minutes. To be sure, for the OneDanXR you will likely have an excited buyer even at hundreds of dollars more -- so I am not really getting my hopes up. But I am surprised nobody else here has jumped in so far to add the OneDanXR to their collection!
Edit: Oh too, I would Badger the board. The climate here is much wetter than the climate there.

I dunno man, I think I might have gone through a few edges of puddles over the years!

Me too . . . but then, the forum population isn't all that large yet.

Honestly surprised it wasn't snapped up already tbf too. The temptation is high but with 4 ½ boards already and international shipping I feel it would be better with another rider.

im not in the xr mkt for i purchased one 9 mos ago n i do have the chip to jailbreak it if need be.

@notsure I have way too many boards ....
-
So I have a local offer for $800. If someone on this forum wants to match that, I'd rather sell it here. I'll give it the weekend, so no rush.
Can't say how much I appreciate this forum ... Thanks @lia and everyone! -
Thx @S-Leon, can't wait to see OneDanXR get born again!
-
@onedangt -- The idea of sharing the BadgerSense did not sit well with my Plus, so I went ahead and ordered another for the OneDanXR -- and a BadgerSight HUD to use with my full face helmet for both.
...Cheaper than a boat... cheaper than a motorcycle... cheaper than a new or antique car... cheaper than a private aircraft... cheaper than a suburban lifestyle... cheaper than many other indulgences...

Out of curiosity, does the BadgerSense have a smart watch app (Apple or Android)? I love having my battery and speed on my watch so I can glance at it whenever I want.
-
@onedangt -- As far as I know, no, the BadgerSense does not connect to a smart phone.
How the BadgerSight HUD display compares to the BadgerSense strip LED display -- where the red threshold (and/or yellow zone) on the BadgerSight kicks-in in relation to the percent of red on the BadgerSense -- is of interest to me. Late next week should tell, with my Plus, the OneDanXR, or both.

Woohoo!
-
@onedangt -- OneDanXR arrived! It is a nice looking board. I took a couple photos of the unboxing, and will try to post them sometime. Right on the charger it went, and then out to the Greenway for an introductory run. For the next run I will put the BadgerSense on it, and push the yellow a little. Oh! And on the ride I did see a milksnake about two feet long. An adventure!
-
@s-leon Happy to hear the OneDanXR has a good home :D
-
@s-leon I know it's not customized yet, but how is the ride compared to your pluses?
-
@onedangt -- Except for the bouncy tire -- which may partly be a function of air pressure -- and a level presentation at 17mph because of not yet reaching pushback, the ride is smooth and similar to the ride on my Pluses.
Turn-arounds need to be more flat and cautious than with my Ignite lifted Plus, with which I can dig the toe down deep without catching pavement. Hmmm... I do have another Ignite lift kit which I may eventually install.
By the way, the morning six o'clock numbers for OneDanXR: Mileage rank # 106 with 7135 total lifetime miles logged; and Daystreak rank with one day and seven miles -- # 3077.

Nice kick start on the mileage, eh? :D
-
@onedangt -- OneDanXR should be in double digit ranking in not much more than an eye blink!
Edit: With seven more miles today, May 14th, the OneDanXR is inching up in rank -- now at #105.
More Edit: Mostly solidly in the yellow on the BadgerSight HUD today, Saturday, May 14th, with one flash of red as the battery had less to give. Top speed -- 21.6 mph.
-
With a one day XR streak again today, this time OneDanXR is ranked at #3973 -- which means worldwide there are 900 more app-connected XR riders Onewheeling today, Saturday, than were riding Thursday -- almost four thousand XR riders total, today.
-
Now with eleven days and 103 miles of riding logged, the OneDanXR is ranked number 293 on the XR Daystreak, a jump of 3680 places from day one -- also the OneDanXR is stable at ranking number 105 in XR mileage, only up one place from day one.
Consistently riding in the 20-22 mph range, at over 22 mph the wide T2 tire seems to put more of a wobble in the ride than I like to feel. Pushing speed, the range is not much more than that of a stock Plus -- about seven miles to twenty-some percent. And at low battery, the BadgerSense is more volatile with the cautionary RED jumping up much more easily.
Edit: Oh! And I saw a red fox on the Greenway yesterday -- and very nearly ran over a gray squirrel today. The squirrel darted out, turned and ran back, turned and darted again, feeling the wind of the OneDanXR whooshing past just a very few centimeters from the squirrel's nose.

I think average riding speed affects range more than people think. I would ride that board in the 16-18 mph range and would get 11 or 12 miles of range with the same 20-some percent left with outdoor temps in the 70F range. I've noticed this on the GT as well where I can squeeze out a few more miles by riding around 17 mph instead of my preferred 19/20.
Awesome to see how quickly it's climbing up the leaderboard!
