Starting sleeting out here in Stephenville. I gave the sleet a try with my Burris tire and realized its like riding on carpet! Except if you brake with your bumper, lean to far, wiggle, blink, sneeze, cough, breathe, whistle, snap or even speak, you'll slip and fall off.
Apart from me being obnoxious, I did learn a thing or two about the onewheel I can't really describe, mainly about it's balancing and motor.
Told my dad about it over text and got this as a response

If I've learnt anything from riding in the snow/ice it's to watch out for the board slipping out sideways when making turns. When it slips it slips fast D: -
@lia I'll be fine! If it's ever cold enough for ice I'm usually wearing multiple layers of clothing and my wrist guards in case I fall.
Can't onewheel around right now due to the snow, and I'm unsure if my onewheel XR would survive being out in the snow.

As far as cold weather riding goes, I’m no stranger. Yesterday I rode 30 miles in 17 degree F temperatures. Fortunately the wind was only 10 mph , and very little ice left on the pavement areas.

17F is really cold! I barely venture outside when it gets below 23F (-5C) even without wind.Anything you'd recommend when out in the cold for long durations like that on the Onewheel?

@lia - other than the usual ‘layers’, a couple of things have helped. I wear a very warm leather hat with a furry lining, large flaps over the ears, held in place by a chin strap. It’s definitely NOT a fashion show, but very warm. I stopped wearing gloves at about 40 degrees, and use wind resistant mittens. This was a huge help!
I use an outer layer of wind & water repellent goretex type foul weather gear.
Also, I have found it helpful to wear wrap around safety glasses. This keeps my eyes from watering as much in the cold wind.
A couple weeks ago, it warmed up to the upper 50’s , riding without the outer layers was a real treat. -
I ususally wear two layers of socks, though something I learned in boy scouts is to tuck your shirt into your pants to help seal the heat and to also keep your skin from getting exposed when you fall over or bend over.
My current issue with cold weather is my visor fogging up
