An adventure around the nearby park riding single track and trying not to hit roots!
-
@cheppy44 I'm getting picnic vibes with this one. Love that sticker too~
-
@lia oo a picnic would be nice!

Rumor has it he bought a used XR with his settlement money. -
87km ride today. Wanted to finally ride all the way up to Market Harborough and back like I tried last year. I made it there and kinda made it back. More on that later.
Not a train person but I do admire the old relics being kept alive at the restored heritage railyard along the way.
One of the many rest areas on the way, it's a stupidly long trail with extremely mixed terrain from paved to loose large gravel >.>
First of 2 tunnels, this one I made it through before needing to turn around.
This one was inspired by one of The Wheel Of Oz's pics, this angle is pretty cool! He has an eye for nice angles :)
Second tunnel was less successful. Mounted the headlight and found the floor was nothing but water saturated silt that had a bizarre traction property to it. When dry it makes it feel like your tire is at like 5psi and super squishy. When wet it lets you roll fine but the moment you tilt the board it looses all lateral traction and slides. Had to walk the last half but managed the return attempt but by going 2mph and literally shifting my body weight to counter a slide.
On the way back, one last nice pic before I started min-maxing my ride style to get the most out of my battery.
Split the ride into 2 so I could be childish and leave my mark on the map elsewhere. I take it I'm not the only one that leaves ride markers like they're marking their territory right?
Keen eyed among you may notice the return didn't end back in Towcester. Well... funny story. The way my pack is setup I get around 1km per 1% IF I am riding economically. It dips if I ride fast and even more on really bad terrain. 10% on the display and 7km to go but I had a huge hill to go and I likely wasn't going to make it to the top to easymode it all the way back.
As luck would have it a small car was parked up at a junction and was giving me the "come over here" finger wiggle thing. "Hey I see you riding around all the time, are you going to Towcester?"
What... What unimaginable luck. Holy... HOW!
Now I didn't know this guy, but putting aside the don't get in a strangers car rule I bundled myself in the back seat and off we went. He was really nice and we spoke a bit on the way over. Hope I get to see him again and hang out. Maybe repay him for the unimaginable godsend of a hand when I was in dire need of it especially because my legs were done the moment I opened my door. -

From the looks of it on your board, that would not be a fun place to fall off the board!
-
@onedangt I fell off twice D:
Thankfully I didn't fall over, just managed to step off as the board barrelled into the sludge. -
Acres of smooth grass to ride my V1 on! The perfect dried-grass circle shows up in drought-like conditions -- it is the outline of a gone-since-the-1930's, old farm silo. In the circle is the current rendition of my V1 -- "...nose down in wet grass..." a line from an early Van Morrison song. Our first (brief) rain in nearly three weeks.

Had to go for an appointment with the doc again (Scary physical exam Oooo~)
Made it early so had time to kill, skatepark was empty so laid claim to it and got some decent pics while there. These go way harder than I deserve.
Left my mark to lay claim to it, anyone else wants to be princess has to fight me ;)
Didn't bring the GoPro so have no evidence of me tearing it up around there and making good use of the floatplates as they got dragged a lot. Promise it was hardcore and looked dope ;)

Picking red clover out of the grass with the Sonny Wheels Slider on my high mileage V1.
-
Kind of a shit post/pic but I rode my GT up to my shop to log in the required mile ride on my V1 to keep my day streak official (probably the only person who rides one Onewheel to a location to specifically ride another Onewheel) and found this waiting for me. Thank you kind stranger/s (pretty sure it was the bikers from Nevada who I suggested a couple fun routes to) for the gift.
-
@hanahsdax Must have been some decent routes you shared with them :D
-
@hanahsdax well either that or someone set it down and forgot about it. Either way enjoy it!

I hope that wasn’t the case.

Today was a late night in the office... I left just before 10pm having not had lunch and like 5 spoonfuls of my breakfast.
Ride home wasn't particularly great because it was raining but satisfying regardless. Getting to leave the cramped server room knowing tomorrow will be just that little bit easier and that I once again winged a solution felt better than the rain made me irritated. Shops were still open so managed to swing by and pickup a treat before heading back too so bonus~

Some pics from the past week :3
This one from earlier this evening. I'm not like the super romantic type buuuut... this would have been a perfect snuggle moment. Instead I get to spend it with this drama queen.
Another from earlier today, been tearing up this newly made path round the watermeadows in Towcester trying my hardest to pick times the dog walkers aren't around but I never manage it. The puppy's are friendly though and I enjoy stroking them as they plod on past, at least the ones brave enough ;)
Atop my fave spot in the town overlooking the council building from the old castle mound. One of these days they'll tell me to stop riding up here, the sign only says no bikes though soooo...
