I'm a sucker for a good sunset. Can't help but snag a pic. Even better if I'm out riding~
Drop everything, set up the gear and I'll likely take around 10-20 pics to choose from later.

I saw an eagle in the sky today
Flying free upon the wind
In my dreams I touched its wings
Caught the wind and flew with him
Oh, what glory it was for me
Flying free up in the sky
For dreams become reality
If in our souls they never die
So seize the moment which is now
For your eagle lives within
Hold the vision of your truth
Dream your eagle and fly with him

Shared on reddit but sharing here too. Cleaned up Slushy after putting a new tire on her courtesy of @HanahsDax :D
More pics over on reddit, didn't want to spam the feed ;)She's spent so long caked in dirt that I forgot how pretty a board can be when clean. I almost don't want to get her dirty again... but I will >:D
Reason for replacing the tire is the Whisper had a few too many punctures. Here is what I was able to pull out of it that I was able to see (1.5mm hex key for scale)
7+ thorns from 3 weeks ago and a few chunks of glass from last weekend. This wasn't actually what let me down (pun intended) but instead the sides had worn near the threads and air was escaping from there. To keep going I would be burning through slime to keep it inflated... rather not.Besides with fresh rubber on hand it'd be silly not to do away with the patchwork whisper and retire it after a measly 3407km. To be fair that's under half what the Vega managed (7208km) so it's not super bad considering how much nicer to ride the Whisper is over the Vega.
-
@lia I’m interested to see how much distance you get out of the new tire and how the ride compares to the Whisper.
-
@hanahsdax Will certainly keep track of it :D
With summer on the way it'll get a lot of early mileage in compared to the Whisper that I put on in November 2020 and saw little usage early on. -
For once the weather is holding out for the long weekend and I'm here for it.
Rode around the recently constructed path circling Towcester Water Meadow. In the back is Saint Lawrence Church, An old mill converted to a brewery, Bury Mount Motte (former motte and bailey style castle) and the recently built council office and library.

Get to the choppa! -
@hanahsdax That's some serious backup for when you run out of battery. Nice to know you always have a lift home ;)

Been so busy with things I forgot to share this pic from a few weeks back.
Was looking for thumbnail material and stumbled across it.

@lia might be my favorite

@notsure It's a very pretty location. Stream running through a nearby town that caught my eye as I crossed the bridge that sits behind the shot.
-
@lia That spot looks so lush. Great picture.

A luscious ride out earlier with some pretty cloud formations coupled with a setting sun.
My fave hill, they've recently put "no cycling" signs up around it but I assume that's because the kids would usually ride their bikes up and down the hill itself and damage the mound. It is after all a historic monument that only recently got work done to it so it could be enjoyed. Prior to restoration it looked pretty bleak as did the area in general.
Sun just set behind a large weather front. Sadly missed it still poking out because I couldn't haul ass down to a decent spot that wasn't construction. You can still just see residual light bursting up from it though :)
Did come across a small group of baby bunnies but they were so skittish that I couldn't grab a pic with them and the board in frame D: Also a nice lady walking her 2 lil doggos got distracted by me and 1 that was off lead just stayed staring a me as I sat at a bench. Eventually I had to go over to it and have it follow me back to it's owner xD
Had a small chat once me and the doggo caught up, the locals have nicknamed me "Catwoman" which came from the local Facebook group where they talk about me a fair bit apparently. It's a private group so I can't peak at it but my sis joined and had a look, supposedly a lot of it is positive :)

i bet everyone is just talking about how all the buildings are the same color. I'll send paint if u send formula. ill throw in some grass seed for that dirt thing too...
Notice how i used the verb 'throw' in loo of 'toss'? That's cuz im super fancy.

I'll have you know we sometimes use different shades of brick here in 'Ngland ;)
Honestly though some different colours would be nice. If anyone paints their house it's usually just white. Considering it's pride month I'd be down with rainbows down the high street :D
