@ed_co how accurate u looking for? photogrammetry apps are getting pretty capable these days.
takes a bit of doing but anyone interested can start with something like this ios app. its freemium. only exports gltf for free, but stl if u pay for it. if performed properly in a suitable environment, it should provide a very detailed fully textured 'accurately' scaled model of the part ur scanning. flat light, low gloss (powder those shiny surfaces) and all u need to do is scale it to measure. just my opinion.

@ed_co Heck if i had a pad to waste i could make a mould and cast it in 40a thane. But problem is the pads have the "horns" for attachment. So a solid base plate would be needed too.
Edit: and get the inserts in there firmly..
-
@maciak it is not pretty near as the Pint ones??
-
@ed_co See img , not mine:
-
@maciak oh, gotcha. Even thought I am 100% sure that TFL will do the footpads in urethane as it was done in every kush. Don't think that this horns are any problem IMHO.
BTW, having the love hump at home, should be great to do photos to be replicate in CAD by someone skilled enough to do it... -
@ed_co I dont have one, photo is not mine..
The boltholes...well if the pad is installed with only those and the 2 front ones, the thane would be too flexible since it only grips at the extremities. The wheelside ones could just tear...i think. Just too little material there. -

Not sure if this has been done before, but I was putting flowable silicone in my GT motor and footpad connections and figured I would measure it out. I think this is a custom bolt, but having the measurements might help someone either find or make a replacement M8 bolt.
-
ProRide makes replacements. Titanium aside, these seem a little expensive. But, at least they are there if something happens and you loose a bolt. https://www.prorideusa.com/product-page/onewheel-gt-titanium-axle-bolt-set

Yea, demand for GT bolts seems vast, so they even listed these up on eBay while not all their goodies aren't there.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/224974185551?hash=item346181a44f:g:faIAAOSwsMhidTDuNeedless to say ... in time being those will be made by Tech-Rails/TechForumProducts as well. Alongside all of the other OW related Ti bolts & screws.

I can't find it. Everyone over the internet keep talking about T45 vs TP45 head type but nonetheless ...
-- Can anyone here tell me quickly what is the GT axle bolt thread size? I have a hunch it being either 18G 5/16 or
20G 1/4
(I don't own a GT - otherwise I'd measure it myself with Thread Pitch Gauge tool.)
Thanks in advance! -
@sirgu The bolt is custom. The threaded portion is possibly an M8 x 1.25mm. I measured 13mm for 10 threads, but I was likely off by a ½mm, and the width is definitely 8mm b/c that is much harder to make a mistake on.
To be imperial, it would have to be something like a 5/16-20 and I don't think that is a thing. Now, the Plus and XR are 5/16-18, and so if I am really bad a measuring, then that would be a good guess. I have both M8 and 5/16-18; I will try to remember to thread both of them the next time I change a tire.
Of course, the neck is wider, and that is one aspect of the custom part.
-
Ouch! I would have never guessed this one is metric. The gradual change makes it 'custom' for sure. We know FM's intentions .. but metric?! Does that make it to be the only (large) bolt out of all OW models to be made in metric thread?
@biell said :... Now, the Plus and XR are 5/16-18 ...
They are indeed. And I can add: XR inner bolt is 1/4-20
Those two side by side on Tech Forum Products, not gonna make my own pic right now.
That all would not be a question if 1WheelParts and Tech-Rails and others just mention the bolt thread dimensions along their products.
Thanks for your remarks @biell ! -

My very unscientific and very novice image manipulation skills suggest these two bolts do not have the same thread pattern.
-
@biell wait..
couldn't we just shoot an email to the person who manufactures the titanium bolt mod for the GT and ask them?
Or take it to a Home Depot or a hardware store and see what they could do to help. -
@sirgu I was putting on my WTF rails today and I tested an M8 bolt, it fits perfectly. The GT hub bolts are definitely, 100% threaded to M8.
-
Thank you @biell !
Either ways I now have had GT Ti axle bolts on order for ~few weeks already. Even though I were unsure about the thread type. They are just a small part of order and I see enough potential to resell those locally to some GT owner if the bolt doesn't fit to my weird intentions.
-
@biell good thing to note!
