@b0ardski I'm not sure. My sis briefly worked in SEO where you can make a site more preferable to search engines which shifts your site up the list of results so there could be ways to do something similar.
For the meantime I'm keeping things mostly on the down low. FM has been cagey as to why they shut the old one down so giving it some time before being open about this existing. It's theorised that it might just be a counter measure to any legal arguments against them in court stating they host material on board mods whilst claiming to try prevent them.
That's not to say we can't invite people though, I just haven't been keen on posting publicly that this exists as to not cause a flood.

It finally happened. 3 months to the day (or 90 days)
(And yes I have been checking the link daily)Guess I can remove it from my bookmarks bar ;~;
With that cementing the loss of the old forum I guess I'll need to knuckle down on reviving the archive. I'll do some manually just to make a start on re-hosting it otherwise I worry I'll never get it done.

Looks like we may not be a secret much longer.
Google has decided we are now one of the top few results when you lookup "Onewheel Forum" on google. Even with incognito we're up there whereas we used to be pages down.
A few new registrations appear from time to time and I have been accepting them with none so far looking suspicious. That being said since I'm not here all the time (albeit a lot) I'll likely be recruiting moderators with powers to ban posts in the event I allow a bot through or someone's causing problems.
With that in mind are there any rules everyone would like put in place as to keep the forum civil, constructive and overall friendly?

@lia If there is a part-time moderator position available I would love to help out when I can to show my appreciation for getting the band back together. This forum is way more active than the previous, I still have a lot to catch up on to be honest and contribute to. Also love seeing your progression on all your projects and other technical/informative posts like Lemur, Sirgu, Ed_Co and MacIak’s. Can’t help but love Not Sure’s sense of humor also and well as the information he shares.

@hanahsdax @biell Much appreciated :) The mod roles will likely never need using but that peace of mind that it won't just be me that has to step in if a bot or fresh account starts causing trouble.
Curious why the XS post got the top spot, it's not even one of the top 5 popular threads.
I'm really happy the forum is as active as it is. As mentioned it seems more so than it once was which I'm extremely grateful for. There was some doubt when I started setting it up that it might go unused but to see it be a hub for us all still and presumably be useful to others once properly public has lifted my mood greatly.
Thank you to everyone here for not only keeping the forum alive but giving it the charm and character it has achieved with the contributions from you all.

@lia I think you picked such an important time, or Future Motion picked it for you by realizing the issues of managing a forum full of RTR hate and deciding to shutter it before that happened. Oh, did I just uncover the reason behind FM's decision to close the forums?
I'm mad at FM too, but all the hate and rancour over on Reddit (which used to be a happy place) makes me just want to hang out here, in this happy, safe place. I hope this forum stays this way for a long time. Thank you × ∞, for creating it.

@biell I really appreciate that. I certainly intend to keep this forum as is without the pretty hostile and somewhat unhinged behaviour that was noticed elsewhere.
Keeping the forum as a sort of safe stoke filled space is my goal and what I loved about the old forum. It still confuses me as to why they got rid of the one space that was both chill with them and they had 100% control over. Their loss as we control the forum now :)

yeah, the Reddit forums are so angry and hostile. i read them, but i prefer the tone and the people here <3

that is by design. shit is insidious. an algorithm designed to assess, quantify, instigate and exacerbate heightened emotionality in normal respondents. i don't even use the downvote in reddit just to fuck with it.

Tomorrow at 16:39 GMT the forum turns 1 year old.
(Expect a celebration post. I know at least one of you saw it because I didn't realise mods could see scheduled posts lol)I was going to make it public knowledge this space exists via a reddit post, especially considering I think everyone actually knows at this point anyway and most just aren't interested in the forum as was before.
BUT...
This is your space so I thought I'd leave it up to a vote. It occurred to me that maybe some prefer to keep it a niche lesser known space.
Upvote this comment for a yes to be public or Downvote to keep it "secret".
