A friend found this website and I decided to look up Future Motion. I don't know how up-to-date it is, but maybe it will give us an idea of if supply chain issues are really the cause of the delay and when those might resolve. Mostly, it is just a cool website. It even notes what kinds of components (e.g. aluminum rails, etc.) were in the shipments and where they come from. Remember that Onewheels are assembled in the U.S.; many of the parts are manufactured in China or Taiwan.
-
@biell Looking at the parts below the main graph and the timelines you can estimate roughly what they were working on at the time which is cool. Thanks for sharing~
Crazy how much things escalated mid 2019, Pint really did some numbers for FM.
-
@biell that was interesting, thanks for diggin that up!

so interesting! i bet my Pint parts were part of either the May or June shipments, because i received it in mid- to late- July.
-
@horseplay Great detective work!
-
@biell Can I share this info?
-
@lemur Sure, it is a public website. I only just found out that it existed today, but it must be reporting public data.
I wanted to see how up-to-date the data on the site was, so I looked up Samsung Electronics Amercia. My fear was that they were working off 6 month old data. However, Samsung have shipments every month up until last month. So, the site only appears to lag by a month. That means it has been a while since FM has received a shipment of parts.
-
FM has confirmed delays are due to the supply chain, not that we didn't figure it out but nice to have it confirmed.

@lia at least they ordered the parts.

So, Import Yeti has loaded the 1/31/2022 data and there are still no shipping imports to Future Motion since April of last year. So, if it really is a supply chain issue, I am starting to worry about my March 1st ship date. Here's to hoping they are either getting stuff soon, or they were lying ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
@biell According to Import Yeti their data can be delayed by 2 months.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxcjPnXKawo&t=115s (1:55 they mention that)FM may have even hid their data by going under another name for shipping. That may explain why nothing since April has shown up since I can't imagine they kept up with releases and PintX development stockpiling parts for a year.
Bit crafty of them if that's what they did, wonder if that's when they started the PintX and GT development and didn't want anyone figuring it out somehow?

lol seems needlessly clandestine. i still think that preorder money was to buy the parts in the first place.
-
@lia Thanks for finding that, I didn't realize their data could be delayed. Since they didn't load the Jan 31 data until Feb 7th, I figured it was accurate up until that date, and comprehensive. This gives me hope that the shipments will start to come in and we will get our boards.
It is also possible they started shipping under an alternate name or through an intermediary, but I think that is less likely.

Reddit is currently buzzing with people getting emails Klarna has confirmed payment is starting for their GT purchases.
Either that's genuine confirmation production is rolling or FM agreed something with Klarna to prevent further orders timing out and auto-cancelling as some have noticed prior.
-
Looks like the rumours were true. Orders are showing in production~
-
@lia Nice! I just checked, too. Yesterday I was "IN THE QUEUE" and today I am "IN PRODUCTION"
Cautiously letting the excitement sink-in.
