      From this, to this. The stickers are just eBay cheapies, not fussed how long they last just playing with an idea. There should be a black FL fender too but I cannot get it to fit, I wonder if they've sent me the wrong one.IMG_20230724_172639_HDR.jpg IMG_20230724_195905_HDR.jpg

        @theadman kinda realising why it won't fit. There is F all clearance between the tyre and pads. Like 5mm. It's got the wrong sodding tyre hasn't it? 11x6-6 treaded hooiser. Starting to wish I'd never bought this board.

          @theadman Nice glow up!
          Shame about the fender though. Contact them about it. TFL are super chill about that sort of thing usually.

                @lia yeah that's the way I have been doing it. Then there is no room for the lip at the end of the fender. I could cut it to make it fit, but I'm a little more concerned that I might have been riding around on a board with the wrong tyre. Shouldn't treaded tyres be 11 5.5-6?

                  @theadman I had this exact same issue with my TFL fender. I had one from the first ever batch and had hoped they fixed it, I guess not. For what it's worth, I cut the middle of mine out as a semi-circle and covered the outside with Gorilla Tape to close in the gap.

                  It worked, but I just didn't like it and ended up buying a magnetic fender. I haven't looked back, and it's been CNR Spectrum Mag Fenders for me ever since. OW+, +XR w/ WTFs, and a GT w/ WTFs all with magnetic fenders. Though, I have to make adapters for the WTF rails to get them to work.

                  It was a great thought to have the fender extend down past the top of the footpad, but it just doesn't work for larger tires.

                    @biell in your opinion is that tyre size ok? <5mm clearance just seems wrong to me when it can easily pick up stones twice that size.

                      @theadman looks a little big. i used rubber bushings with my float fender.

                      XR's got what plants crave!

                        @notsure I don't know what to do. It's not FLs fault if some half wit has put the 6-6 tyre on there and it's wrong, and those tyres are being sold for OWs here. If I cut it to fit the ends of the fender will have to rest on the inner edges of the pads, will that be an issue with the front one?

                          The stock Vega on the XR is sized 11.5x6.5-6. I’ve ran a Hoosier treaded with the same size and currently have the FF T1 which is 11x6-6 on my 4206 XR and a treaded D20 Hoosier 11x6-6 on my 4212 XR. I don’t think you would need the 11x5.5-6 for the Float Fender to fit right. I’ve only used FM fenders so I could be wrong.

                            @hanahsdax the standard fenders I have fit fine, they just look terrible and one is broken.
                            Can you tell me with a 11x6-6 tyre/tire if you have a tiny clearance too? It's like 1/5th of an inch.

                              Can anyone confirm if the 11x6-6 is ok to run?

                                        @theadman Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I see you cut the fender already. Luckily, if it doesn't work for you, TFL charges a reasonable price for them.

                                        Tires have a variance, and so most tires that work sometimes, might not work others. And, of course, PSI plays a big role. The lower the PSI, the more likely you are to get a tire working.

                                        I have only ever used the Vega, Hoosier Slick, Burris Treaded, and Trail-Pro on an XR or a Plus. With that said, the Vega would work, and I remember the Hoosier 11x6-6 Slick being small. I think the Whisper is also known to be small, so that could work. The Burris Treaded and Trail-Pro are basically the same and both known to be large tires.

                                          @biell thanks. I think I had a bit of a panic about nothing. Nothing has got caught in the gap and the tyre isn't touching it even at speed or over bumps.
