Flat Tire!
-
@s-leon well crap
I have yet to have a flat tire on my onewheel. Odd to see that the green goop stuff didn't do it's job though, it just kinda spurted everywhere and it looks like it made a bit of a mess
...there's a joke in there somewhere..
-
Turns out that the new 5.5 on my spare motor also went flat over the winter and spring.
-
@s-leon FYI, I may have not put any sealant in that tire when I mounted it. The first Hoosier that was on the OneDanXR went 5,000 miles with no sealant, so I figured why ruin a good thing! :D
Perhaps all it needs is some sealant and it will hold air.
-
@onedangt -- This morning I Onewheeled up to an auto parts store and bought a bottle of off-road green tire slime. This afternoon I added half the bottle to the tire of the OneDanXR, added air, and rode the OneDanXR for a mile and a half to spread the slime around inside the tire. Now it is ranked #91 in distance, and today #3155 in Daystreak. It feels great to ride it! I also filled my spare Hoosier 5.5 with air yesterday, and it is holding its own.

@lia -- I will switch the OneDanXR's display to metric! -- Edit: 13797 km
I'm actually not planning to ride the OneDanXR much, but I will try to keep up with you -- I'm busy trying to recoup a #1 in distance on the V1 or Onewheel Plus (about 2100 and 1400 miles to go, repectively).
Then... I'm carving to achieve a Leaderboard display of... #1, #2, #3, & #4... the first two in distance, and the next two in Daystreak. The whole enchilada might take months... or even until next year... or possibly never.
-
@s-leon I see absolutely no reason you can't strap a third OW to that bike! :D
-
@onedangt -- Not because of your teasing, but because of my fresh strategy for achieving my goals. I am tempering distance with the V1 and Onewheel Plus now that I have the #1-#2 on the Leaderboard, looking to just maintain the streaks -- and that means I get to ride the OneDanXR more.
-
@s-leon I knew it!
-
@s-leon i see no reason you couldn't fit a fourth or fifth on the front either.
-
@notsure -- Send me one or two more Onewheels, and sure, I will try mounting four or five Onewheels at one time on a bike!
-
@notsure -- I do not yet have a Onewheel Pint or Pintx, a GT, or any VESC boards, but I would also gladly accept another V1, Onewheel Plus, or Onewheel XR for this challenge! ...A dedicated cargo ebike would be nice, too.
-
@s-leon With a 4th board you could make a wooden frame to link them all to make a gokart then ride that instead of the bike.
-
@lia -- Or, how about two Onewheels spread like training wheels at the back bike wheel to help keep the center of gravity low? ...And another possibility is to load a few Onewheels in a bike trailer -- which I do have.
-
@s-leon Wait that's genius because the wheels would charge as you move too!
-
@lia -- A yoke and couplings to pull a whole train of Onewheels!
-
@s-leon I love this so much please build a onewheel train!
-
@lia -- In my experience of pulling Onewheels they would need some side stabilization because they tend to carve on their own. Maybe join them in side-by-side pairs, or several abreast.
-
@lia -- I could use the bike trailer as the yoke, extend support struts out the sides of the trailer, and strap a Onewheel on the struts on each side with wheel to the ground. Then I could carry several more Onewheels in the trailer itself.
-
@lia -- This kind of exchange is how ideas are born!
