@wheelwizard So little update. I got a cheap Surestart Pro off ebay and it's made activating the pad so much better.
Might be worth picking one up if you're still having issues as it's pretty sweet and easy to install :)
@mk_
This seems like the board starts and the notices that there is an error. Did you check the battery? Are all cells alright? The max14291 chip measures the battery cell voltages by charging a cap and counting the time it takes to discharge. The caps near this chip could also be broken.
I noticed the post is not recent. Did you already fix it?
@lia I totally understand! No worries about the address. I wouldn’t mind meeting up at a restaurant or coffee shop near your place, or I could even leave the board with you if that works better. Maybe we could chat somewhere privately, like Messenger or something, to sort out the details. And of course, I understand there’ll be a cost for the repair.
New update:
The motor has started to vibrate whenever I apply breaking. It's like haptic buzz vibrating. Updated firmware, recalibrated the motor and went through motor crunch troubleshooting.
What fixed it was unplugging the Hall sensor plug in my veac and plugging it back it.
@loaffette Big oof 😶
Idk. It is priced at what the PintX was so technically still better for the money but I'd still want those little QOL bumps for an S series.
Also that screen snippy you posted shows that bumper edge they mentioned which I couldn't spot on my first viewing. Pretty big so maybe that is for the rail guards like they suggested.
It may quiet down as the tire wears, but it's not too loud as to be annoying.
Quick follow up with about 150 miles on the ThunderCat. I would say the noise level is about half what it was when new. On some surfaces you can barely hear it, but the hum is still there and definitely keeps me informed in real time as to my approximate speed. Overall, loving this tire, great grip both on and off pavement. :D
@pigeon Just checked the returns page for them. Must have been under 30 days for my friend as they'll take it back and handle it then. Otherwise it's back to the company :/
Stoke Solutions is the only one I'm aware of but I've heard mixed reviews as of late. Onewheel are selling parts now though so give them a poke as they may be able to diagnose and ship out a replacement part under warranty.
If all else fails if you're near Towcester I could take a look.
@lia it was! that rain made for one of the best years i can remember in a long, long time. it was fantastic. kinda hoping it rains again this year, but alas, the long-range forecast is looking like a totally normal (perhaps even slightly cooler) year.
