Onewheel Trade In Program (Ends February 28th 2025)

Like last year FM are offering a way to trade in your old boards. Looks like Pint, PintX, XR and GT are being accepted and you get the biggest credit towards a GTS if you do. https://tradein.onewheel.com/
(skip to 2:08 for the actual deets)
I'll pin this till the deadline like last year.

@lia Has anyone ever verified if the coupon code works if sold? Like, if I had more than enough parts lying around to put together a complete XR, could return the board, then try to sell that coupon code to someone looking to buy a GTS for like $600?
I guess I could just sell the board, to them. But, this method might be easier if the person lived somewhere else (no need to ship them the board).

@biell someone is currently looking into it on the Vescify discord
Lemmie grab a screenshot of their current progress

@biell I’m not sure but since they’re taking broke boards too then boards with mixed parts might be fine right? Like it’s all fm parts anyway so you’d think it’s fine.

@lia That's what I'm thinking, and I would be sending in my 4208 controller with the rails and BMS it came with. So, all the parts that might have a serial number would jive. So, I'd be OK. I don't want another FM board, but I might be willing to help someone else buy one if it means I can have them recycle my old stuff properly.
I didn't do this last time b/c I wanted to keep the motor. But, I have had enough overheating that I might be nudging in the direction of a superflux for my next build. In which case, do I really need 4 Hypercores? I wish they would give you half the coupon for a board sans motor. Then, it would be a no brainer.

More than just laser-etched S/N on rails matching to controller S/N ... don't they look after all the stickers and embedded labels all over other parts to verify it's the actual complete board? Not the one built to be appearing as 'complete' but broken. Following out of curiosity ...
