Taking it apart and letting it dry out is a good call. It doesn’t look like the bms broke from a visual inspection. If you have a multimeter it is worth double checking the output voltage on the xt60 is at a working value for the time being just to check that off the list.
Once dry you can get away with connecting the battery, bms, controller and power button to test it without completely re-assembling to check for any obvious error codes if it turns on.

@lia the controller still works, since when I plug it in it connects to the app, but the BMS is probably shot.

@notsure its weird though, since I've ridden in rain or through small puddles before and never had problems.
After I fix this, I'm water proofing the entire board, front to back

update: Board powers on its own power, however it reports 1 percent on the app, and doesn't display charge time.
Going to make sure it's absolutely dry before putting it back together.
Going to order a waterproofing kit ASAP

The board is fully charged, app semed to figured itself out. The board does ride, though I have put it back together incorrectly. Weird rumbling noise..

@s-leon I would buy another but it's prohibitivly expensive, and both would take up valuable dorm room space.
speaking of VESCing, if the VESC allows me to read out the amount of power left for the motor, I may send back both the badgersense and badgersight
I'll also throw in something else, when I get time..

Glad your board works again. Phew.
I go out in the rain quite a bit.
Always a worry…One day I thought it would be a good idea to take an umbrella because it was so windy and rainy…
Going north was fine, no problems, I turned back a half mile later and I was like Mary Poppins, umbrella almost inside out, struggling to keep on the board. Turned out not such a good idea after all. Quite amusing though 😉I won that stupid game luckily.

I don't like carrying around umbrellas since I find them to be a hassle to carry, and I often end up just throwing on rain gear and calling it a day.
