My Third Season Finally Started!
-
I'm not a commuter or daily rider but the winter wait really takes a toll. The weather is turning around and I was FINALLY able to put some miles on yesterday.
First season was just learning the fundamentals.
Second season was pushing skills and developing a style.
Third Season... I don't know yet!For those of you that have been around for a while, what can I expect this year?
I do plan on going to Float Valley in Tennessee for a change in scenery. Just hoping I don't plateau and get bored.
It was messy but so much fun to break in the new season:
-
@blkdout I just looked up Float Valley. That's actually really cool! Hope you enjoy your time around there when you go :)
I don't think you have to worry about a plateau with the sport. There are a number of adventures, people and communities within our little hobby to explore. I think if you're worried about a plateau then maybe that change of scenery you're looking for is just what you need :)
Great pic btw although I do not envy the cleanup D:
-
Looks like my scenery is actually changing. Job is relocating so I have to leave my trails behind. Not going to make the progress I was planning. Womp womp.
Just going to turn this into a memorial thread until the next thing lol.

im sry to hear that.
-
@blkdout I hope you manage to find a nice spot at the new place. This one looked really fun.
Maybe a change of location might inspire new adventures too. -

All packed up. Luckily found a new place that is definitely bigger and hopefully better. It comes with premade trails and a water feature. I see it as a blank canvas!

@blkdout
Nice packing. Pic 1
Must have been nice unpacking. Pic2 :) -
@blkdout damn your OW looks cool with those rails and no fender.

Must have been nice unpacking. Pic2 :)Ha! Don't have a move date yet so we're still packed. It's nice to have everything consolidated though. Secret bonus of moving.

Thanks! Even though I usually rock really short 1/8 fenders, they surprisingly make a difference in how much stuff gets kicked up. It's the difference between having a lot of dirt in my shoes or just a little dirt in my shoes lol.
-
@blkdout I learnt pretty quick not to ride in shorts with no fender. Stopping every mile to empty out the gravel. 😆
-
Definitely rocking that little fender today lol. Every time it rains the tire kicks up so much debris.
-
@blkdout do these actually work to keep your legs and the pads clean?
-
@theadman Keep clean? No lol. But they change the normal trajectory enough to make a "good enough" difference. I have longer ones but they tend to toss everything up on the front footpad. I also never got along with full fenders and their inconveniences.
After a few laps with these, everything is compacted enough to not be a bother... unless you're a clean freak that is lol.
-
Been tired of the red on the FAF's for a while and didn't realize how bright, almost yellow the WTF's are. Liking the new orange much better.
-
Made it to the new place, not unpacked yet but started clearing out a path between the trees. Priorities lol.
-
Soooo turns out riding fenderless over a bunch of pine needles is far less than desirable. So much so, I broke and picked up a full fender. With a little modification it fits the FAF rails. Just have to get used to the noise again... I forgot how loud they are.
