My Enduro failed last week so I bought a Maxxis 6.5. While waiting for it to be delivered today, took the opportunity to vinyl wrap the rest of my rails. No protection available for Varials, so why not DIY? lol Also had some harness-to-tire contact so I made some little retainers to hold them back.

Edit: Almost forgot, I was going to weld a couple allen wrenches/bits together but I found a T-handle bit holder and welded a socket on top instead. Having an all-in-one, 4-way tool really sped up the disassembly/assembly of the board. Absolutely love this thing:

@blkdout i have an enduro im eager to swap in when the thunder rails arrive. im still on the stock vega. over a thousand miles lol! still works fine. still square as a mf lol! speed wobbly as shit, but im prob a lil extra gnarly cuz of it. i can whip that thing around just fine now. compared to the pint tire, vega rides like a cinderblock!

        XR's got what plants crave!

@notsure Yeah! The Vega is great! My second tire was the Treaded Vega and loved it even more. I didn't wait until either was worn out, I just swapped for the experience lol.

I personally wouldn't wait for the rails, just install the Enduro now! I was in a similar situation , waiting for Varials, but installed the Enduro the same day it arrived. Amazing tire, I was able to get 800 trail miles out of it before I broke the cords inside lol. To my surprise they're still sending a warranty replacement.

After riding the Maxxis this evening, I have a lot of thoughts about it... Coming soon.

I was going to make a separate post and give a mini review of all my tire experiences but, eh, I thought I'd keep it really mini lol.

So in short, although I was happy to give it a try, the Maxxis didn't do it for me. I took it off as soon as the warranty Enduro arrived. Even though I measured them at the same weight, the Enduro is a better climber, better in corners and all around much more comfortable and stable. Not to mention ease of installation and removal. So easy to pop on and off. The main factor has to be the soft compound they use.

I read someone else on here mention the stock Vega is a better tire due to OE quality specs, which is very true. Especially being my first Enduro suffered a structural failure at only 800 miles with basically all the tread still left. Keeping in mind though I exclusively ride off-road, out of the few tires I have tried, the Enduro is still hands-down my trail killing preference. I'll be happy to buy a third one when the time comes.

@blkdout Shame about the Enduro failing but nice to see TFL address it :)

I hear nothing but good thing about it, wonder how they'll top it for the next release.

i would like a drifting slick... one that could reliably give me that elastic sliding feeling. i dunno if thats either a super hard or super soft compound, but if i could drift around a turn or two at 16 mph in a fun but controllable manner, id dig it!
