GT production update January 14/ 2022

I got one too, still estimated for the 27th so not sure if they just haven't updated the trackers yet.
"the global supply chain is having a moment right now" That's an understatement, can't get your hands on anything recently. Wonder what the "few crucial components" are. Guessing maybe tires since everyone is struggling with those right now and possibly bluetooth modules. At work we've been unable to get a hold of certain dect phones that use similar chips and those are impossible to get currently.
Totally agree with @b0ardski , practically every new board has had this. Seeing the Plus chaos on the old topics along with Pint delays.

email Ian. I'm sure he can get that delayed for you lol.
-
@notsure Haha. My estimated shipping date just got bumped to February 28 from January 25. Maybe I get the board by spring.

did ANYONE really not expect this???
say it with me now "pint launch".exactly. the amount of tears and rancor over on reddit is just amazing. talk about entitlement. i ordered my Pint the day they were announced (or maybe it was the next day), and waited over 4 months for it. people are exploding with rage over a couple weeks, lol
-
@lemur Mine finally updated to March 1st.
That's about time the weather gets bearable here, and delays me paying import tax another month ;)Wonder how reddit is doi-
...nevermind -
@franko some ppl sold their boards to pay for it. n they never explicitly tell ppl they're preordering. how do they even get those dates? i can understand the rancor.

@notsure Rough estimates using an online tool are about an extra 23%
Assuming customs don't inspect the package and add an additional charge to justify their existence I've accounted for the extra amount.Conveniently I've found whatever it costs in the US, just change the $ to £ and that's what I pay.
...At least that's what I tell myself coming to terms with paying that much extra >.> -
@lia ugghh thats rough. u guys should apply for statehood.
-
@notsure Very, it'd be nice if the North American and EU trade bloc could join up. That sounds like it'd be less painful for the UK than to ask for a statehood.

id watch that on tv!
-
@notsure i thought i saw someone say that it actually does say it's a preorder somewhere, but i haven't looked myself. it's the same way as it was with the original Pint.
-
@franko Looking up preorder doesn't bring up results outside the 3rd parties that planned to sell them upon arrival.
Re-watched the and they don't ever say preorder either, only referring to them releasing it later (and to order early to be riding one sooner, foreshadowing much). That being said it essentially was one regardless if they said or not.
Anyone ordering now can expect their board sometime in 6 months. Reddit user AccidentProne76 just did and their board is estimated for July D: I feel bad for anyone that sold their board in preparation for the GT and now has none for a bit longer. Second hand XR prices might see a nice bump from this though.

yeah thats rough! but im hard on FM anyways. im not sure how many they've sold in total but it's probably 100 million in revenue by now. at some point they can't use the whole "we're a small company with thin margins" to rationalize some of their behaviors. its not a lemonade stand.

well, people who weren't around or paying attention back when the Pint rolled out can't be faulted, i guess, but it's exactly the same way they rolled out the Pint. I for one am older and wiser now, that's for sure. I do feel bad for people who sold older models to help fund a GT purchase, but in the long run i think it's better to wait and have something that works as advertised. it's a non-fun lesson in patience, i guess.

i don't think ever had a fun lesson in patience lol.
-
@notsure fair, but some lessons in patience are more tolerable.
-
@franko but i wanna learn it now!

LOL! I soooo get that.
ProTip: Never, never, never pray for patience.

A friend found this website and I decided to look up Future Motion. I don't know how up-to-date it is, but maybe it will give us an idea of if supply chain issues are really the cause of the delay and when those might resolve. Mostly, it is just a cool website. It even notes what kinds of components (e.g. aluminum rails, etc.) were in the shipments and where they come from. Remember that Onewheels are assembled in the U.S.; many of the parts are manufactured in China or Taiwan.
