Sorry, last one for a while! I'm just stoked about the new look right now lol.
Have you made railguards for the varials? Looks awesome in orange!
-
@lia yeah, apparently they make great pets. This guy was hanging around expecting food, so I guess other people at that cafe have been feeding them. They normally eat insects or smaller lizards.
Was cool to be so close to one.

Time for a Onewheel update!
(The school doesn't lock the gate to the track, so I ususally go there at night to ride around. The ground on the track makes my tire act weird, but it is fun acting like your racing other people!)The onewheel XR has been treating me well so far! It has turned from a cool toy to a tool in my life. My bike I have is good for getting to walmart and such, but bad for getting to classes due to it's footprint and how people congest both the sidewalks and the roads (No, seriously. People just walk in the middle of the street. It's dumb.) and the onewheel, with a massive speed reduction lets me weave past people if I have enough space.
The onewheel currently has stock everything except bumpers, tire (provided by @OneDanGT (Thanks man!)) and rear footpad. Next on the list is life savers for my rims because I ride this thing like a psycho at night or when there's lots of space and I'm going to start to learn tricks. The badger provided by @S-Leon (thanks man!) will be installed this week as well. I will try to design clips to attatch the LED strip to it.
Down the road, I will look into a battery upgrade, and finally either new rails or maybe even a VESC. After that, I'll water proof the board and I should be done with it for a long while!
Also, it's icing outside so that is going to severely limit my riding time. Ice isn't as hard as I thought, but braking with the bumper causes the onewheel to slide, and turning sometimes feels wack.

Went trail riding today with some of the local onewheelers! I met some pretty cool people and even one of the people who works at the local 1wheelparts shop in Dallas!
Everyone was pretty cool and chill, though my led clip for the badgersense broke and the LED came loose. I still ahve it but I has a crack that I need to patch/glue. (Sorry Leon!)
-
@loaffette -- Looks like a good ride. -- The repair on the BadgerSense LED will give it character!
-
@s-leon i superglue it, though I think I might hit the LED strip with a hair dryer to soften thr plastic, then use something heavy to flaten it out if thats ok
I can't get it to easily stay on my board and the clips won't work as intended with the curved LED strip
-
Not the first of these I have shared, but this python caught my eye on someone's drive as I rode home last night. Had a real stumpy tail, probably and old injury.
-
@stinkyface No thank you! id be off my board and running the other way!
-
@cheppy44 Okay but like... what if it's friendly :3
-
@stinkyface oooooo snake!
Reminds me of the time in summer camp for boy scouts when a lot of the older scouts were trying to catch snakes for.. some weird reason

Sorry, just seeing this! Nothing special, it's just vinyl wrap. Less than $10 on Amazon plus a sharp blade :)
@LOAFFETTE That track looks fun! I drive by one occasionally with the gate open too lol. I haven't had the confidence to stop and try it out yet but riding on mulched rubber I bet is a dream.

But do you think this will protect against falls and collisions?
Can you send me the link on Amazon?
Thanks -
@ed_co Very minimal protection! But, yes, it does protect against minor scratches and dirt rash. I wouldn't expect much on hard surfaces such as pavement, concrete or gravel but again, it does offer some protection. Nothing close to the protection the hard-to-remove PITA poly rail guards provide lol.
My favorite part about using wrap is when you get bored with a color, it's very easy to peel off and redo. Just make sure you keep SHARP blades on hand as they dull pretty quick. I just use basic x-acto blades but definitely buy a pack or two if you plan on doing this. Isopropyl alcohol is your friend as well.
Link to wrap. Just type the color/style you want in the search: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=vinyl+wrap&crid=OR9DADBW9X0G&sprefix=vinyl+wrap%2Caps%2C171&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
Pics because everyone like pics, right? lol
I have since decided to go with black on the outside and color on top and bottom. Again, so easy to swap out opposed to poly guards:
