New parts from FL are finally here
-
@notsure I don't know what to do. It's not FLs fault if some half wit has put the 6-6 tyre on there and it's wrong, and those tyres are being sold for OWs here. If I cut it to fit the ends of the fender will have to rest on the inner edges of the pads, will that be an issue with the front one?

Shouldn't treaded tyres be 11 5.5-6?The stock Vega on the XR is sized 11.5x6.5-6. I’ve ran a Hoosier treaded with the same size and currently have the FF T1 which is 11x6-6 on my 4206 XR and a treaded D20 Hoosier 11x6-6 on my 4212 XR. I don’t think you would need the 11x5.5-6 for the Float Fender to fit right. I’ve only used FM fenders so I could be wrong.

@hanahsdax the standard fenders I have fit fine, they just look terrible and one is broken.
Can you tell me with a 11x6-6 tyre/tire if you have a tiny clearance too? It's like 1/5th of an inch. -
Got brave with the scissors and pliers.
Can anyone confirm if the 11x6-6 is ok to run? -
@theadman My V1, Plus and XR all have 11x6-6 but I haven't used this type of fender before.
-
@lia what's the clearance from the inside of the pads like?
-
@theadman With stock pads it's about 5-7mm

@lia thanks

@theadman Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I see you cut the fender already. Luckily, if it doesn't work for you, TFL charges a reasonable price for them.
Tires have a variance, and so most tires that work sometimes, might not work others. And, of course, PSI plays a big role. The lower the PSI, the more likely you are to get a tire working.
I have only ever used the Vega, Hoosier Slick, Burris Treaded, and Trail-Pro on an XR or a Plus. With that said, the Vega would work, and I remember the Hoosier 11x6-6 Slick being small. I think the Whisper is also known to be small, so that could work. The Burris Treaded and Trail-Pro are basically the same and both known to be large tires.

@biell thanks. I think I had a bit of a panic about nothing. Nothing has got caught in the gap and the tyre isn't touching it even at speed or over bumps.
