i had my first walk of shame today. took out the og pint for the first time in like 7 months just to cycle the battery n it died at 50%.

luckily i was close to home and near the top of a hill so i could coast home after a brief 100 yard walk.

but the app didnt/wouldnt reach 0% each time i power cycled so im a little worried the battery may be toast.

was able to get the battery down a few more percent with the power cycling.

ive got it on the charger and gonna leave it for a few days to thoroughly balance.

i might have stored it without draining the battery enough beforehand. i think i remember draining it down to like 65% - 75% tho.

whats the likeliness the cells are damaged? stored it in the box at room temps.

@notsure I wonder if one or 2 of the cells slipped more than the others when sitting stored away and needs a good balance. I don't think you should see that sort of degradation leaving it at 75%.

I'm unsure if there's an app that works with the Pint to read the cell voltages but ideally once they're within 0.1v of eachother at full then (when taken off the charger) then that's the point to see if you can run it down close to 0%

I'm hoping that this won't happen to me. I've got an XR with over 1100 miles on it, and I'm hoping that I won't have to replace the battery any time soon.

I'd see if you could get a repair place or some kind or whatever to look at the batteries to see if they are still balanced or what-not. I don't know much about lithiums, so I can't say much

113 volts?! I could lick that!

@loaffette i have 1100 miles on my xr now and it seems to be ok still. but its something u should plan for.

if i have replace the pint battery, i have an ffm chip and i think rewheel is an option now too but im not 100% on that last one.

@lia after charging fm app says 62.7 volts. gonna take it out again to see what happens. shouldnt take long to find out with that tiny battery.

              edit: u fixed it!

i got a hefty bottom-balance out of that last run too! its on the charger for a couple days to balance the cells.

              that pint pushback tho...

@notsure Congrats :) Happy it was only a little balancing that was needed.

@notsure coming in late to the thread, this was quite the emotional ride to read, lol. glad it's ok now!

makes me nervous for my Pint. it's sat lonely pretty much all winter, and i was just thinking that this coming weekend might be a good time to take it out for a spring run...
