Fungineers "w" rails just dropped

The "w" style rails just dropped for preorder. These rails are fully compatible with XR/PLus parts.
Low price of $199 US for now, I just ordered a set in grey.

@lemur I'm impressed how cheap they are compared to some other rails.
Look pretty slick too, although I'm personally on the fence about the axle mounts. Would be nice to get a set with only one set of holes but the freedom to change built in is a bonus regardless even if not my taste. Set of rail guards would no doubt fix my issues.

@Lia What do you mean about the axle mounts?

I don't see the way to put railguards in the Fungineers rails, due to its central piece with the bevel... Which could be aesthetic but totally killed the possible support of having proper railguards.
Having said that, I find them as a bargain, compared with the INSANE price of most of the rails in the market

u chose the grey over the purple?! my oem warranty is up. i have an enduro to be swapped. might be a good opportunity to swap out those legacy rails n lean into that eventual vexr conversion?

@notsure I choose the grey because afaik, the grey set may be anodized instead of PC for better heat dissipation?
All the pieces I need to build a top self board are coming together, rails, 100v Ubox, Super flux motor.

yeah me too. it looks like the purple is anodized. im looking at the bevel for threaded inserts. looks shiny!

You can set the height of where the axle attaches to raise, lower or keep it centered.

I personally don't like the look but could probably be hidden easily with some rail guards. THat said I'm sure plenty like the look and flexibility :)

@notsureI think 100v (22s) Onewheels are a non starter, 18s may be the peak for speed, and weight.
As for the PC vs anodizing, latest from Funginers:
"However, i want to do prolonged testing and a few other types of tests while actually riding and heating for a continuous period of time. I have a couple days before the paint is finlizsd. If its a big difference, we will aodize them all, otherwise PC for all".

are we on the downside or the upside of this saddlepoint? panasonic works with toyota on ev stuff. toyota holds the most ss battery patents. my guess is that once the tech is proven it will be licensed to someone.
