Hi there - I’ve just finished installing this kit and felt quite proud of myself for not have to many left-over pieces of kit. However, while startup seems fine, I don’t get any form of motor engagement when I lean forward into ride position. Any helpful suggestions would be most welcome?
The foot pad sensors are working fine, and the motor does engage when I test via the “flywheel” (VESC) option.

@thedoc2025 That's weird. Do you have any packages like refloat/float installed in vesctool?
If so could you take a screenie of the appUI page when trying to balance? -
@thedoc2025 Do you get any error messages on the "Float control" app?
Also before you change any settings, back up your configurations. -
@lia sure, I installed the 3 VESC programs. In fact my board is now working … it seems I have some footpad engagement issue. The point at which the motor engages has a very narrow sweet spot and is super easy to go straight over and past it

@lemur very wise words re backup and is of course exactly what I didn’t do. Lesson learned!
It seems I have a very narrow sweet spot within which to engage the motor, which is easy to overshoot. Will get a sure start. Thanks for you help.
