GT 5" hub

Hi guys, does anyone use a 5" hub with their GT?
I'm considering getting my standard 6.5" GT hub replaced with TFL's cast N42 MTE hub but wanted to hear some trusted experiences from anyone that may have tried it :3
How is it compared to the 6.5" hub. Like are there any downsides? Guessing it's really squishy so it climbs better but what is it like on pavement with the extra volume of air. I'm a little concerned it may feel like it's deflated and give that typical side slippage sensation unless you go with higher pressures.
Reason for the upgrade is I've gotten used to dropping curbs and I can feel my rims getting close to smooching the ground each time. On trails I find the lack of give afforded to the tire makes some bits harder too.
Would the upgrade be an all round win or might it lessen the joy of pavement rides that I do like 99% of the time?

@lia I recall a video where Jeff does say that the 5" hub on the street is more squishy feeling, especially if you dial down the pressure for trails. The Pioneer is supposed to be a great off road tire and "ok" on street, but again, worse so on the street with lower pressure. Due to my riding mostly street, I've decided the 5" hub is not for me, but "might" be interested in a 6". :)
I have the GOAT on my GT and the Thundercat on my GTS, but those are both 6.5" AND I ride 90% street, so not a great comparison as I am fully 10% body weight on tire pressure. What I do love about the Thundercat over the GOAT though is that I never feel a transition to the edge, it's just perfectly smooth, like you're riding on a ball, but then no squirrely-ness in the center. The GOAT has an, ever so slight, transition, so I'm definitely not disappointed. Both have really good tread though, which really helps side to side traction on pavement and trails.
You should've visited Sacramento when you were here earlier this year, I could've brought you over to meet Jeff and the TFL guys and you could've tried out all kinds of boards, hubs, tires, VESCs, etc! Next time maybe you can fit that into your plans. :D

I tried a goat a few weeks ago but that GT also had the latest firmware so I was always trying to figure which I was feeling at play when off road. I'm still rocking the OG GT treaded so I'm not super fussed on the hard edges. I'm definitely a bit of a fringe rider with my preferences 😅Defo will try to if we do Opensauce next year. Big IF because I'm not sure yet if we're going. Wish we had planned to stay longer this year but tbh we didn't think we'd be up to much like the time before. Sacramento will be on the todo list and we'll give you a heads up if we're in the area 🥰
