The old one ran on NodeBB which is opensource forum software so I was able to install it too and tweak it to match. Happy to hear it feels just like it used to :D

I did want to extract the tables and put Daystreak/Mileage side by side but it doesn't look like I can specify a table in iframe.

@lia Oh, that is so neat! Having it as right side border of the Wall of Stoke category seems like a good place.

So ... the big (BIG!) question ... how far have you gotten restoring the monster Leaderboard thread? ;-)

Funny you mention that, this Sunday along with my normal leaderboard updates I was looking at posting all the old weekly updates on a new "Watching action on the leaderboard" topic under Wall of Stoke.

I have copies of all the ones I did separate from the archiving project so can upload those. Will figure a clean way of doing it so it's not a long tedious list of images.

I only managed to reach out to a few people I could remember the usernames of on reddit. If there's anyone not here feel free to give them a poke if you have their contact :)

Just to note I've set the forum to admin approval for signup to avoid bot's invading the forum.
While archiving I came across a number of posts suggesting the old one was plagued by it early on which probably prompted FM to introduce the same measure.

i think that's a good idea. outside of the FM forum, i didn't have any contact with anyone else, sadly -- i never expected it to go away, being the official one and all that... sigh

Me either, was genuinely shocked. I'd already considered it might have been a possibility a few days after it hadn't come out of maintenance but it still hit hard when it was confirmed.

@b0ardski I'm not sure. My sis briefly worked in SEO where you can make a site more preferable to search engines which shifts your site up the list of results so there could be ways to do something similar.

For the meantime I'm keeping things mostly on the down low. FM has been cagey as to why they shut the old one down so giving it some time before being open about this existing. It's theorised that it might just be a counter measure to any legal arguments against them in court stating they host material on board mods whilst claiming to try prevent them.

That's not to say we can't invite people though, I just haven't been keen on posting publicly that this exists as to not cause a flood.

With that cementing the loss of the old forum I guess I'll need to knuckle down on reviving the archive. I'll do some manually just to make a start on re-hosting it otherwise I worry I'll never get it done.

Looks like we may not be a secret much longer.
Google has decided we are now one of the top few results when you lookup "Onewheel Forum" on google. Even with incognito we're up there whereas we used to be pages down.

A few new registrations appear from time to time and I have been accepting them with none so far looking suspicious. That being said since I'm not here all the time (albeit a lot) I'll likely be recruiting moderators with powers to ban posts in the event I allow a bot through or someone's causing problems.

With that in mind are there any rules everyone would like put in place as to keep the forum civil, constructive and overall friendly?
