This one is yours truly sitting atop Northampton lift tower overlooking the rest of the town as the sun sets filling the sky and landscape in my favourite colour scheme.

Realistic? Probably not.
Looks cool? Sure does!

You can't actually get to this spot on the lift tower, at least as far as I know since it's off limits to the public so I found some creative ways to figure out the view.

First attempt I got 50+ hours into it when the Photoshop file got corrupted :( I was barely done outlining the town below and doing a basic fill for each building. .psd had reached 1.89GB before corrupting and I barely made the buildings look any good so I think if I'd have continued that way it'd have been unusably large to work with.

Second attempt I made a new save for each new drawing session as to not lose all my progress again and decided to finish detailing me and my board first before working on the background which made things go more smoothly. To avoid a ballooning file size and the Sisyphean task of drawing Northampton again I instead opted to capture a very HD image of the town then stylise and adjust the lighting to fit the theme.

I like how it came out, wanted to add more but felt it would needlessly clutter the image and take the focus away.

Got myself an A0 (large poster) and plan to mount this somewhere... I... hadn't actually thought about where I'd put another large print honestly.

If I did (cannot confirm nor deny) that'd be very illegal here on britbong island.

Oddly there aren't many pics from atop that tower that aren't low resolution straight down pics of people abseiling from it. Was kinda disappointed when looking for ref images at first. Considered booking an abseiling session to snap a pic before descending but it looks like they forbid doing that which probably explains the lack of pics. That and they aren't taking bookings at the tower currently.

As for the backpack I struggled to make it look right and couldn't get it to fit in with the colouring so opted to not include it. I imagine it'd just be out of frame since the Mavic certainly didn't come with me in my tiny pockets lol.
