Your achievements this year and plans for the next?

I figured since a lot of negativity seems to be around recently why not try encourage some positivity.
Definitely easy to let the pessimism goblin settle in with the wrong headspace so lets change it up.What did everyone get done this year with their boards? Did you have something planned and get it done or just something come up that you're super stoked happened.
Maybe you didn't get so much done but you still want to. Or damn you ticked off all of this years todo list and you've gotta make a new one. What's on it?

What negativity? I always miss the fun :(
I'm still kinda new to this, just stoked really to have a fun new hobby and to have made some new friends. All being well I will have a newer, faster board soon. I'm missing the better weather and looking forward to more group rides when it improves.

To me, I like having become habit taking my Onewheels to the Greenway by ebike. It feels healthy and uses less gasoline. The other accomplishment I am proud of is the Leaderboard #1, 2, 3, 4 -- captured on screenshots.
Continue Onewheeling! is one goal. Maybe take two #1 places in distance.

@lia what about you?

@theadman This year I don't think I managed as much as I would have liked.
- I got to ride around the US with my BF.
- Managed to create and sell some of those headlights even if it wasn't as worthwhile as I hoped (never again).
- Went on many cool group rides :3
Stuff I did but didn't expect were:
- Got hired to make a new enclosure for Fungineers which should be reaching people early next year.
- Get to start fixing a GT that will eventually replace my XR (although with recent events I sort of wish it was a Floatwheel)
- I was able to meet and chat with Wren and a number of other cool creators at OpenSauce.
Next year I want to:
- Finish the GT before spring and get to be on rides without having the worst battery ever.
- Make some good steps to emigrating to the US. Maybe just contacting some legal experts about proper steps.
- Build at least one full scale VESC based board.
- Finish the LN2 custom XR controller
- Finish the XS in preparation for the next OpenSauce event.
Also congrats on being the sole owner of a Floatwheel on the forum (at least by group membership). You are now our resident expert ;)

@lia nothing about the epic group rides? ðŸ˜
Expert by default? Meh, I'll settle for that. I've just got back and had a brief ride. This thing is an animal.
(No I won't turn all FFM etc)

@theadman Fixed it lol.
You'll have to show me it at some point. Doubt poor Slush'll keep up with that especially after seeing what it was capable of when Peter had it.

I guess I’ll start off with what I was stoked to accomplish this year. I didn’t get as much riding in as I would’ve liked and I wasn’t able to ride a mountain pass like previous years but I did find/ride a few new trails/routes. I created a comp film titled Day Streak: a movie with Onewheels in it. I was able to officially cross the 1000 day mark on my V1 and also completed 5 years of riding everyday in November.
The biggest goal I had but didn’t get to accomplish which I was the most bummed about was Operation Perpetual Motion: Regen Madness part 3. Everything was lining up for this experiment to happen; the bike park was closed, the Gondola was open an extra week, the weather was unseasonably warm, the route had been determined and tested. Then tragedy struck. An injury occurred. I sprained my ankle 2 weeks before I was set to execute the plan. I was initially optimistic I could pull off a quick recovery and still make it happen but after the first few days of recovery I knew it wasn’t going to happen. The route is too demanding which consists of single track, bike park trails and service roads. I had no option but to abort the mission.
To understand the purpose of Operation Perpetual Motion: Regen Madness part 3 we must take a trip back in time to the year 2020 when part 1 was executed.
29 miles on a XR with a stock battery.Then part 2 in 2021
19 miles on a V1 with a stock battery.And here was the test run screenshot for part 3 on my GT with the goal being trying to get 40+ miles on one full battery charge.
I hope to be able to give part 3 a shot next year. Other 2024 goals include finishing the little backyard track I’ve developed, riding a 1000 lunch break miles, trying to have a 10,000 mile day streak on my GT and hitting the 2,000 days in a row milestone which is ironic/crazy because it will fall on the anniversary date of when my XR day streak ended.

@hanahsdax Sorry to hear you didn't get to ride as much or complete part 3 of your experiment.
Although 5 years of daystreaking is amazing!I hope you manage to do it next year and many more amazing rides. With that GTS I'm sure you'll have the sped to get them done extra quick ^-^
