Funwheel X10 fender options
-
Hey Everyone,
I have a Funwheel X10 ordered (in parts) and hope I will get it soon but wanted to prepare beforehand with a few things and one part of that is getting some fenders.
As I've seen the TFL BTG XR Drop-top fender won't fit natively but I've seen some 3D printed options for an adapter. If I am not mistaken that might be your work @Lia
Any idea what filament it need to be printed with? I have to send this to some shop to print.

Also I assume this would fit the X10 as well and not just X7.My other question might be related a bit, how waterproof these Funwheels are? I am coming from GT/GTS where I've badgered and never had issues (although I wasn't riding in poring rain). But wonder if I have to somehow badger this one as well.
Cheers!

@scabaa Hiya ^-^
Yep that one's me. I printed mine out of PLA+ with 6 walls on a 0.4mm nozzle. Layer height was less than 0.2mm and was surprisingly strong so anything you do beyond that should be more than good enough to hold it in place :)For funwheels they're pretty good out of the box but for piece of mine I'd recommend a line of silicone around the boxes just to be safe.

@lia Thanks for the info! I was actually wondering if you would be willing to print and put it on ebay. I would be more then happy to buy it from you instead. Let me know :D
So you would put silicone around the box opening and not the ports? I've also seen there are a few "mudguards" on printables. X7/X10 doesn't have a cover by the fender deletes I assume like GT/GTS has.

@scabaa I wouldn’t be able to print them sadly. But there’s probably a bunch of local places that can 3d print on demand :)
A little around the motor/footpad connector where the nuts seal up against the casing is a good idea too. It’s not super likely to leak but helps stop them becoming a problem later after some use.
I do have some fender deletes on printables too for the x10/7. Similar to the stock Pint/GT but split due to the rail bend. There’s a flat or curved version on there if you go through my models on there :)

@lia Cool thanks I will check it out and try to find some local shop to print. Should buy one and start printing myself really.. would be a lot easier haha
