When this newsletter notification popped up on phone first, I was like "Meh?!?.. what's so special about it?". Later on all that 6.5 inch thing came to mind again. Meanwhile I had forgotten it for good.
Where are those overheating issue claims now??
But afterall .. it's still a good thing in it's odd way. -
@sirgu Well, I figured an MTE with bearings and a tire is like $750 purchased separately, so if i also wanted to pick up a complete stator assembly so i could quickly swap hubs, it would probably cost another $200 at least, right? Add sales tax and shipping and you're actually saving money going with the 6", plus tons of new tire options. I can swap out the entire hub, grab a slick. All I need is FM to fix that damn custom board angle feature to accommodate W rails, and I'll be pretty psyched! Broke, but psyched!

@notsure I've been riding a 6" hub ever since the 2nd batch of TechRails/StokeService motor plate covers came out to do the conversion into an XR hub. It really is so much nicer, and even today, the selection of 6" tires is just better. I'm running the CNR/Burris Cloud right now and it rides like the name suggests. Normally I just ride the soft Burris Slick, but the Cloud was on a great sale and I had a coupon code, so I couldn't pass up trying it.
Even nicer this past month since I dropped a GTV kit in it.

@notsure It is a very nice upgrade. I already built an 18s VESC myself, so the GT was feeling blah. I was getting used to the VESC algorithm, and little things about the FM algorithm that didn't used to bother me started to. So, I installed it, and that brought new life into my GT for me. I'm very happy with my choice.
