Resurrecting a well used XR... hopefully
-
I picked up this old timer with 8300 miles on it , it's an 4206 XR with a newer battery, turns on and no resistance on the motor.
It was cheap at $250 cdn, that's about $5 usd, haha.
I'm working on it as we speak. "Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to make this board look pretty. This XR 4206 will be that board. Better than it was before. Better -- stronger -- faster." -

@lemur I restored the 4206 XR back to almost original, except for the faded rails, but the rails have the matching serial number. I already have modded Xrs and this one was very inexpensive.
-I installed nos footpads, low mileage Vega tire
-replace stripped and missing brass inserts- repaired wiring harness as the rear lights were not working
-repaired the motor connector and battery harness - cleaned up the badly done "badgering", the previou owner used brown aviation cement for sealing , it took a couple of hours to scrape and clean.
-helicoil stripped holes
-resolder footpad connector inside the controller
--rides really nice with the Vega tire
Just a personal view, but the Vega is a better tire than the Enduro, the Vega is a real gokart tire that can run high speeds and the Enduro is an offshore tire not made to gokart standards.
Before
After - repaired wiring harness as the rear lights were not working

@lemur -- Beautiful restoration!
