Spring refresh on the ol' OG Battleborn Pint
-
i decided to paint my fender (again!), and this time i spared no expense: i did tons of research and found paint i really like in a color scheme that i feel works with my OG Sage Pint:
I really like that it is glittery and shiny, and that it transitions from gold (Nevada is known for its gold and silver mining back in the day) to the green that goes with the Sage colored rails in a nice way.
I got the paint from here: it's one of the Chromacoat colorways:
https://usa.specialistpaints.com/collections/kustom-canz-custom-aerosol-cans
I followed all their instructions to the letter: priming (2 coats), sanding, their recommended base coat (3 coats), then the color (5 coats), and then the clear coat to hopefully protect it (4 coats). excited to take it out for a ride this weekend and celebrate spring! i now live in fear of scratching it up by wiping out, lol.

@franko -- Impressive! That is one beautiful paint job!

@s-leon thanks! i've never used paints like that before, but it was super easy. i was worried, but it was literally just a matter of following their instructions and just spraying it on. i hope i did a good enough job that it lasts a long time. they are made for cars and motorcycles, so it should be durable.

@notsure thanks! it's amazing what a new coat of paint can do.

Looking superb!
I imagine that spike through heart if tossed over by slight mishap at first time. -

you should do some rail railgaurds that color, love the sparkle, like a green vampire in the sun lol

@NotSure omg, right? i'm gonna take it out for a ride today, and i'm going to live in fear of rolling it every moment.
@b0ardski i love the idea of matching rails! i picked this color because at certain angles it takes on a greenish tint like the sage rails i have, so it still works in my mind, but rails that changed color like that, hmmmm..... so tempting!
