i don't know if anyone else here reads the onewheel subreddit, but i think i'm finally done with it. it's so acrimonious and rage-filled these days, and i'm just sick of it -- sick of the "FFM" thing, sick of the conspiracy theories about Future Motion, sick of the negative attitude there. The OW community there used to be like it is here -- people supportive and positive about this thing we all love, but now it's devolved into a horrible place. i'm done reading it.

TLDR, i really appreciate this forum. Thanks for being awesome, everyone ❤️🤙

due to just busy-ness in life (and now winter) i haven't had a lot of opportunity to ride in the last year (i know, i know... hoping this spring & summer will be better!), but i love having a place to read about everyone else's thoughts and adventures. the Reddit sub is fine, but it doesn't feel like a community like it does here, and i really appreciate that. happy birthday, and keep floating on, friends!

@onedangt wow -- well, if you're gonna randomly run into a Onewheel neighbor, it might as well be a famous one, lol.

i swear i'm gonna float more in 2025. I fell and bruised my ribs this past summer (not on my OW, haha -- on a bike), and i'm still healing from it, so i haven't ridden since before that. Now it's winter here, so my little Pint isn't going to see any use until next spring. I should be ready by then. For now, i'm eyeing the slopes!

i think it looks fantastic - LOVE the cauldron! and i think your costume also looks great, makeup included. it's halloween, after all -- can it really be TOO much??

i decided to paint my fender (again!), and this time i spared no expense: i did tons of research and found paint i really like in a color scheme that i feel works with my OG Sage Pint:

I really like that it is glittery and shiny, and that it transitions from gold (Nevada is known for its gold and silver mining back in the day) to the green that goes with the Sage colored rails in a nice way.

I got the paint from here: it's one of the Chromacoat colorways:

I followed all their instructions to the letter: priming (2 coats), sanding, their recommended base coat (3 coats), then the color (5 coats), and then the clear coat to hopefully protect it (4 coats). excited to take it out for a ride this weekend and celebrate spring! i now live in fear of scratching it up by wiping out, lol.

@lia innnnnteresting! i'm in a weird/unique position because my OG Pint is so OG that from what i understand, i think i can do anything i want with it, mod/repair-wise, but i haven't had any need or desire to yet -- so i am really not that frothy about the whole Right to Repair brouhaha. But if this is an indication that they are going to work together to do something about it and make customers happier, then i think this is fantastic.

@lia wow, the entire ensemble looks so great! and it really holds up well while riding, even on different terrain. great job on the video, too. i had no idea you were even making one!

@sirgu hmm, interesting! i've never heard of these either. I don't have the issues with the OneWheel that she seemed to, but maybe i'm not as experienced as she is on snowboards, i dunno. I notice this 2Swift (?) has a hand controller though, and that's part of the reason i got rid of my Summer Board when i saw the OneWheel. I really don't want to have to carry something in my hand and rely on the (assumedly) bluetooth connection for my safety. One of the genius things about the OW to me is that it's all controlled naturally with your feet and your body.

didn't know where else to put this, but i ran into the first person i've seen with a GT out in the wild today. I was eating lunch as a local bar/restaurant, and this guy rides up on one with a little kid, him on the GT, his son on an OG Pint. They were also with a friend on an electric long board. Anyway, i just HAD to go up and ask him what he thought about the GT. the longboard friend rolled his eyes and said, "Ohhh, DUDE" and laughed, and his friend with the GT said "You're the second person today to ask me. i LOVE this thing -- and it's my first day on it! it only has like a 30 miles on it."

he said he originally rode his son's Pint and likes it, but he's a bigger guy -- i think he said he weighs 260 lbs -- so the Pint just couldn't power him up hills, but it was perfect for his son. he said the GT has NO problems with him being a big dude. he was all smiles. Just wanted to let you all know that there's GTs out there and people are having a ball with them.

@lia these are amazing! they look a lot like the little Pint ones they sent out to all the early Pint adopters while we waited months (and months) for our Pints to arrive. well done!

@blkdout yeah, i missed the women's race but tuned in on sunday and it was a lot of fun to watch. i'm not steady on uneven terrain at all, but it was so interesting (and fun) just to see people who are that good navigate that stuff, and also be able to tell when they are pushing their own comfort levels too.

the other thing that i somehow missed is that it was at Sky Tavern -- literally a 20-30 minute drive from my house, and i had no idea. i'm just too busy with other stuff these days, sigh. it would've been fun to go spend the day up there and watch it live. oh well.

Has anyone else watched the new officially-produced OW video? it's a really cool example of just how versatile the Onewheel is, and it shows off some gorgeous footage of my neck of the woods. Well done, OW Official!

@puzz360 It's getting to be too cold for me to ride here, so i haven't been on my board in weeks (i've also been stupidly busy), which is to say that i didn't do the haptic update on my Pint until last week. Took it for a final ride this past weekend to get the battery into the 50% range for storing over the winter, and everything worked fine. i never managed to feel the buzz, but i wasn't pushing it either.

I'm headed out a week from tomorrow (Aug. 23)... and this year i think i'll bring my OG Pint again. I haven't brought it in a few years because i don't know anyone else with one, and i was worried about theft -- well, i'm still worried about theft, but now there are so many (newer ones) on the playa i'm sure mine won't be as tempting, haha. Anyway, i know there is at least one OW camp out there (shoutout to Keepin' it Wheel camp!). I plan on coming by and saying hello. Anyone else going to be at the burn this year?

@sirgu that looks dangerous as hell. i wonder how long it takes to learn. and only 20 mins of flight time, with no altitude limit? better set a loud alarm on your watch!
