This is certainly an imperfect improvement. But, I like to be thankful for any improvement, it's a step along the road. Thank you, California, for passing a right to repair law.
To compare some pricing. Mario charges $730 for a pack with 36 P45B's & Ennoid's are $235 (which is a bit overpriced); the GT-S pack has 26 P45B's + BMS + housing for $850. So, it doesn't seem like FM is charging an outlandish markup to me. They are certainly making decent money on this, though, given that they are purchasing in bulk, mass produced, and at cost. So, don't let anyone convince you this isn't a profit center for them, but it isn't a ripoff.
FM could have saved money by selling just the battery, but I can totally respect their decision to sell a consumer product replacement part this way.
