onewheel injuries

I have had two concussions...I was found on the side of the road knocked out and luckily a friend found me and picked me up and I woke up in my bed bleeding from my head...and a hematoma on my left hip that hasn't completely healed...I was not wearing my safety gear any of these times...always do now...anybody else have similar experiences?

@jp -- I woke up in the hospital once, a concussion through a full face helmet. Luckily it happened near the parking lot, not miles down the Greenway in the middle of nowhere. Each hurt brings me to more safety gear.

Wow, both a couple of nasty accidents there.
I hope speedy recoveries are/were had.
We hopefully learn from our mistakes though…My first accident involved a slip on gravel at about 2 mph and was actually made worse (I think) because of the wrist guards I was wearing.
I had to go around a car waiting at a junction, unfortunately, where this junction is a “left turn” only, gravel builds up at the point I decided to turn around the front of the car.
The board slipped out from under my feet and I put my left arm out to stop my fall, because I was wearing the wrist guards with their slippery hard plastic, my arm slipped out rapidly and apparently pulled a fragment of bone off my shoulder where the tendon joins the bone.
That has never really healed up a couple of years on, however, it’s more annoying than too painful so… no worries.
I think if I had not been wearing the wrist guards I would have probably grazed my palm, maybe at worst broken a collar bone, but ultimately would have been less damaging.
I always wear a helmet, but in the few times I’ve hit the deck, I’ve never hit my head. Phew…
Now, I wear woolly gloves because it’s winter, other than that, I wear fingerless cycling gloves the rest of the year… not wrist guards ;) -
I've only had small scrapes or bruises, never any concusions, broken bones or anything serious. I'm pretty nuts about wearing protection when riding, and it's why I got my massive helmet.
The only serious fall/injury I've had was when I screwing around in a parking lot at my school, and a section of it had a large bump that sent my flying off the board and onto my side. Hip seemed fine though hurt like hell
Just got right back up and hopped on my onewheel and continued riding aound after a few minutes of cursing
